Kimber Cust II report (pics)

I took my trusty Kimber Cust II out today (and the sp101) to run some ball ammo through it. I bought this gun back in the day Kimber was pimping the external extractor.

Ammo was PMC Bronze and Fiocchi 230gr fmj.
The gun ran fine, aside from one FTE caused by my support hand thumb rubbing the slide. I suspect this was from my having shot the revolver first and my thumb position transferred to the 1911.
I actually "thumbed" slide twice, but the second time induced the jam. My fault.
The gun has actually been stellar for me over the past 2K rounds, so no worries about the external extractor, it works.

I shot it at 7yrds,10yrds and 50ft (max range at this place), solid as usual.

With my last 10 rounds, I ran the target out to 50ft and tried for a real nice group.....

Decent, 2"

then, brought the target back to only 15ft and tried the Higginbotham Drill, which is 5 shots under 2sec from low-ready into a 5x8 target.

A little right, but it passed pretty easy.

Someday I think I need to refinish the slide, it's getting acne in spots, but otherwise my most trusted auto.
