Montana Gold Bullets

Has anybody used them. I am out of .357 bullets and was thinking of getting some, $89 per 1K delivered didn't sound bad. Also it said shipped to a business, can you have them shipped to the house for free?

I just loaded up 2000 of them 500 in the 40 s&w and 1500 in the 45 GAP. Love them. Might I ask where your ordering from? That seams like a good price and I could always use some more.

From the MG web site. Hope I'm reading it right. For a case of 3,750 it cost $335 delivered. That comes out to $89.33 per 1K.

The shipping price is included in the bullet price, but I believe they charge an additional $5 for residential deliveries. Double check me, but that's how it's worked every time I've ordered from them.

They make good stuff, so I wouldn't worry about any quality problems.

For revos I really like the .357 142gn bullet. Very accurate in my 627 and 686.

They are just over $100 per thousand to my door.

And the pointed noses load real easy and fast in my moon clips.

They're some of the most popular amongst the competition folks.

They usually do equipment surveys at the big national matches. From guns/holsters used, to belts, mag carriers, gun bags, reloading equipment and even ammo components.

MG is always at the top of the surveys I've seen.

Here's the IDPA 2009 list:
http://www.idpa.com/tj.asp?ID=252

I am a USPSA member, and they've had surveys printed in the magazine and MG is first.
2009 USPSA list:
http://www.boomershooter.com/forums/...urvey-results/

I found those just by doing quick Google searches.

Rusty I've used them (and still do) in 9MM, .40 and .45. Good stuff all around...and beyond that, they are some kind of gorgeous. The bright gold .45's are a visual delight in bright sunlight.

Mg 9mm & 40s&w

I have used MG for my bullets for the last year. 9MM 124 JHP, and 40S&W 180 JHP. I have used Manny (MannyUSA.com) when I ordered more than just 3 boxes.

The bullets always LOOK good, and I have had NO problems with the company or bullets.
Best wishes.

CrustyFN,

I just started reloading a little while ago, but I have loaded about 1k of their 124gr CMJs and have been very pleased with them. I intend to try their 147gr CMJs and 124gr JHPs in the near future. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Great stuff. I order the big boxes (3750ct) of 124 JHPs. They make for a really good quick and dirty pistol round.

Have shot them for a few years now. Great products. The postal service guy that has to deliver the cases doesn't like me very much anymore.....

Shot a few thousand 230 grain fmj's in my 1911's before I started casting. No complaints at all (but they ain't getting any cheaper).

I'll be up in the Kootenai later this spring. Might stop by Kalispell.

I've gone through over 30K of various Montana Gold projectiles. Good stuff.

I used to buy MG all the time until the prices went out of site. Then I realized those gold bullets were only good for punching paper as the hollows don't expand like some of the other stuff, sierra or xtp. I started using cast for punching paper. Much cheaper. Nothing against MG, they are nice bullets, just too expensive for punching paper.

I've shot 4,000 Montana Gold 115gr FMJ and 1,000 124gr FMJ in my CZ 85 Combat. These bullets are very accurate and consistent. Be aware that they use a brass jacket (as opposed to gilding metal) and you will have to bump up your charges by .2 gr (Winchester Super Field) to reach the same velocities as with Zero bullets.
