KyGunCo AK-47
I just got Guns & Ammo mag in the mail and there's an add by Kentucky Gun Co. that includes an AK in 7.62X39 that take 30rd mags, has a chrome-lined barrel and has a quad rail for $489.99 and free shipping.
I can't find the rifle on their web site to get further info. I'm wondering what the underlying rifle or build is and if this is a good deal.
I already have a Norinco that I have made somewhat tactical. I've been doubling up on rifles and handguns so that I have 2 weapons that will take the same mags if necessary. I know some will advise to just get an Arsenal, but they are more than I want to spend on an AK unless I get a really good deal. One LGS has an Arsenal for over $1,500 .
Anyone know about this specific Kentucky Gun Co. AK?

Here you go. It's basically a WASR with different (lightweight) barrel and a shortened sight radius. These have gotten great reviews so far though. From what I read I'd buy one but I love all the WASRs I currently own and don't need any more

I wonder how long it will be before they get another shipment I'm ready to order it now, I don't really want to backorder though.

Well, I just went and ordered one. They said they are getting in 400 and they should be in this week. I don't think they'll charge my card till they ship. I wonder if I can get a red dot sight that will co-witness with that set-up?

That seems like a great deal, i was going to say the barrel may worry me, but i see that it is a cold hammer forged barrel, which would make me guess it was imported like that.
Great deal I think.

I called up Kentucky Gun Co just now and they said it will be around 2 weeks before they get a shipment in.
I plan on back-ordering one tonight.

No. In the unlikely event it gets lost, I'll make a claim against UPS or FedEx.

Know a site with good mags for a decent price? Apparently people have trouble with pmags working in these rifles they have to file them down first or something.
I'm so disappointed that its going to be two weeks for them to get them in!!!!!! he didn't sound 100% sure either..........

Does anyone else find it odd that these are listed as 7.62x39, yet the rifle pictured is sporting a 5.45x39 mag?
