Checked for threads, none available. Read the 1911 buyers guide article, possibly not in production at the time of writing? Don't know. I'm thinking I don't want to pour alot of money into a 1911 and I think after all the reading I'm doing that you really do not need to. If the Rock Island and Ruger are now on my radar screen for purchase, leaning towards the tactical RI because of the ability to hang a light on it.

Question: the trigger on the tactical looks different (cnc'd vs solid), are it's workings any different? As far as weight/smoothness etc?

As for the Ruger, not sure I want shiny, I like the combination of a little shiny with matte black and the reddish wood checkerd grips.

Our RIA Tactical came out of the box with a skeletonized trigger and an excellent trigger pull (<5lbs). The RIA's are plenty good for the money.

And Metro Arms! They make the purty filipinos. 49 rounds through mine...two fail to feeds from the stock mag. None from a Chip McCormick mag.
