Just ordered 1800 rounds
This ammo crap is getting rediculous again. I'm down to around 500 rounds so I went looking to get 500 more. I'm not one to keep a ton of ammo on hand. I don't shoot the rifle a ton, I mainly work with the handgun. I went looking and found basically nothing. So I placed an order with sportsmans for two 900 round boxes of 193 on stippers. Came out to $582 with a shipping date estimate of OCTOBER. I mainly ordered because the price was pretty damned good $.32 on my door step. Plus the closer it gets to election the worse it's going to get.
If anyone knows where I can pick up 500 rounds of 193 or Federal 223 tactical in the black boxes for a decent price let me know. Now I am off to walmart to stock up on .40S&W..... May as well stock up on mags as well.
Wife is going to be pissed but she'll get over it.

Bought XM193 in 1000 round box (loose in a bag within a box really) for $335 shipped to Texas last month. Out right now but they tend to get them in fairly quickly there at PSA. That is 33.5 cents per round, not too bad.

Yeah now is the time time buy ammo, its not going to get any cheaper. The closer we get to the election the more and more panic buying and price increases.

No it will not. The days of brass U.S. made 9mm for $4.99 per 50 are gone. Was not that long ago either, maybe 2005 or so? AR mags are not going to get cheaper either, $10 a piece for quality metal mags is rock bottom IMO.
If I could stop buying guns I would buy more ammo.

Local cop shop had about 50,000 rounds of Federal M193 in 1,000 round loose-pack boxes for about $400ish last month, they had an ammo shipment come in.
Them having 500 round boxes of non loosepack was pretty common, it's just supply and demand.

reload
1000 pulled 62 grain bullets $70
1000 small rifle primers $30
4 pounds of surplus 844 powder $45
save your brass or pick it up for free total $145
even if you buy once fired brass you can get 5 or 6 (maybe even more) reloads as long as you don't load it to the max

Man that is not enough 1800 rounds won't last long at all. I can't believe how difficult it is already becoming to find some ammo. Thankfully I have what I need to last me a while. Reloading is a great idea too I have to do it to be able to shoot my 10mm.

I really hope you don't put your faith in that October date....Your going to be sorry when the ammo is no where to be found & the supplier can not get it.

We'll just have to wait and see. That wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Give these guys a call. They had a pallet full of red box American Eagle at $120/400 last weekend. Lots of other stuff as well, I've shot plenty of their reloads without issue.

You gotta get a "slush fund". It is where my extra money goes to buy stuff that I want.
Palmetto has some good pricing....

Have you checked out what the local gun shows are selling them at. Sometimes you can get really good deals.

I was being a bit sarcastic. Her usual response; "You work, you have a credit card, get what you want." She's actually really understanding and doesn't ***** about it. In turn I don't ***** when she comes home with bags of clothes or other things she wants. As long as the bills are paid and we pay off our purchases it's not big deal.

I can't make gun shows without taking days off work. The gun show ring around here is on the same weekend in various cities in the area. I work every other weekend, and it's always the same weekends I'm working.

223 ammo is hard to find. military pull down bullets and powder are no where to be found. you can find some tula 223 sometimes. the only thing easy to find is primers.

I don't know where you live, but I can drive to 4 different places and buy as much 223 as I can afford.

They just sent me an email letting me know they weren't going to be able to make the ship date giving me the option to cancel the order. New ship date? 12/31/12 I kept the order, it'll get here at some point. At that price I'll take whenever it gets here. In the meantime I order a case of AE Tactical from Cabelas($350 shipped), which is actually my preferred round as it is the ballistic equivalent of my duty round. That with what I have should get me through this year.

No problems buying ammo in my area yet!, but its getting pricey. I have about 2,200 rds in reserve I think I might want to hold onto for now and buy as I shoot.

has anyone used that BVAC ammo in 223? seems like a pretty good price.
