Defense for the elderly

My elderly mother that lives alone in a small house called me to retrieve my dads old service revolver today. She kept it in her bedroom for SD but now with near blindness does not feel comfortable with a firearm. My thoughts are to get her some Fox felon repellant in a larger container that would be easy to find and manipulate. Is this a good way to go or is there another option that I should be aware of?
Thank you.

It sounds to me as if you have a good plan, bro. Be sure you get something with a shape she can manipulate by feel to know it's pointed in the right direction, and ideally, an inert substance practice version of the same thing so she can familiarize with it.

You're a good son.

Best,
Mas
