This Just In: Christians are NOT the enemy

Critical thinking these days demands the recognition that Christians are NOT the enemy regardless of your beliefs. BTW, everyone believes in something.

Discuss.

Care to share the critical thinking process that brought you to this conclusion?

What is an enemy to you may not be an enemy to someone else. Could you define or flesh out what you mean by "enemy"?

Christians,at least Southern Baptists, are still in the NE preparing and serving food (paid for by donations), helping cleanup destroyed areas, and will help in reconstruction of homes at no cost to the residents. A friend in need........................ DOC

Tempting.

Christians argue a lot. They argue philosophy. Sect argues with sect. When it comes to free thinking Christians are down right combative. It is the nature of the religion.

Yup.

Christians are not the enemy. The enemy is in the Christian.

Are you referring to Jesus Christ?
Maybe the Holy Spirit, or even God himself?

Doctrine.

Doctrine is your Lord. What YOU almighty YOU believe to be true.

The enemy.

Sure. Don't even bother to articulate how you're right in terms that non-wackaloon people can understand. Just spout off about how you're right on a forum while your religion and your political party dies. How's that working out for you?

Being that the atheists are the only ones with a doctrine which doesn't explicitly forbid them from abiding by the motto, "Live and let live" (whether or not they always do abide by that is a different story), they don't ever have to look very far.

Certainly not. People who wish to dictate how others must live their lives, and who wish to dictate morality to others; those are the problem.

Those nativity scenes and a message of Christ who died for the benefit of humanity really jam it down people's throats.

On the other hand is the inquisition and religious wars. Why must the two be confused?

There is a battle in progress. Everyone is choosing their side in the conflict. Which side have you chosen?

You speak as though there are two sides. God and God's enemies.

This would make Christians the only right and the rest wrong.

You set up and maintain the dichotomy of strife as the only reality. Peace on earth is surely not the goal.

No, they're propaganda.

Because the Inquisition was a tactic used in religious wars. Isn't that obvious?
