InCrediMail-Can't kill it and can't make it live!

During one of my many recent crashes with Winblows XP, my IncrediMail died. I tried reinstalling it and that too crashed. I now have a "Complete IncrediMail installation" icon on my desktop, which naturally doesn't work and if I go into control panel and try to remove IncrediMail, I get a "cannot open Install.log" file error. How do I completely remove this turkey or revive it to some point where I can send an-e-mail to Gates with a thank you note for all his contributions to my stress level.

If you are comfortable with looking in the registry, run RegEdit and look here:

That's where the Uninstallers are stored for "Add/Remove Programs".

Under Uninstall, Find the IncrediMail Key.

There should be a "DisplayName" Value, and a "UninstallString" value.

The UninstallString Value simply contains the command line to run for the uninstaller, such as:

(This is just made up, but it should look simular)
C:\PROGRA~1\incredimail\UNWISE.EXE C:\PROGRA~1\incredimail\install.log

This is the full path to the uninstaller exe, and the full path to the install log. You may have to find the install log in the incredimail folder where it's installed. Then find the uninstaller. Either fix the entry to point to the log, or drag and drop the log file on the uninstaller exe and manually delete the incredimail key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

If you don't care about a few items left on your hard drive, nuke the Incredimail Key under Uninstall to remove it from the Add/Remove programs list, delete the shortcuts, then delete the folder with it's files.
