E-mail Spam Attacks Help Please
I keep getting e-mails from a bunch of different Hotmail accounts. Each one is a different account and I get two or three a day on average sent to my RoadRunner e-mail account. They are spam mail and try to get me to buy Viagra and other various penile enhancement drugs. Since I have no problem getting it up, I am not interested. ;f So, I have been adding them to my Outlook 2000 "Junkmail" folder (I just set it to delete them when added) but I keep getting them from different addresses. Is there an easy way to stop this short of changing my email address?

Sorry, but no.
In the future set up a private email addy. Use it without making it public. Don't register message board accounts with it, don't order anything with it, don't put it on any forms of any kind. Don't use it to forward jokes either.
I have several email addys. One for forums/message boards. One for ordering. One for jokes. One for business. One JUNK account. One for the people who I forward jokes to that insist on signing me up for free movie tickets and subscribing me to fun pages. One for general forwarding of jokes. You get the idea.

Check out SpamBayes. It's a plugin for MS Outlook, that has anti-spam functions in it. You can train it on known "jumk" mail, and known "good" mail. Once you spend some time training it, it will classify messages, moving them to a junk mail folder as appropriate.
It's a lot more effective than any built-in Outlook junk mail filter.
One more thing, think about switching over to Mozilla Thunderbird if possible. Instead of relying on a third-party anti-spam filter, it has built-in anti-spam functionality, just as good as the third party filter I mentioned.

Be sure to report the hotmail addresses to MS. They don't like that.
Thunderbird has an amazing spam filter built in. I don't know how they do it. I used to get a hundred or so spams a day, but now I'm lucky to get one or two a week through. It's easy to train it as well.

I use Spamnet by Cloudmark - www.cloudmark.com - and it catches about 98% of the spam that hits my mailbox. I receive about 300 emails a day and usually only have to manually delete about a dozen spams.

I'm fond of "Mailwasher"
which has recently gone payware, but I'm still using the previous freeware versions. It takes a 'peek' at all the email on the server and you can write filters quite easily to handle the garbage. IIRC the new payware version is hotmail/yahoomail, etc., (i.e., non-pop accts) interfaceable.
If it's not at mailwasher.com, you can link ahead to it from spywareinfo.com

Check out SpamPal.com.....
Also, if you're using Outlook, it's easy to set up filters that'll pop your offending email into a folder for review and deletion.
