Yea, don't waste your time with it. It's all about money (just like 99.9% of supplements). It's crap.

Hey Fellas, thanks.
But, please, let me ask you another question about why you think the stuff is crap. This may take me a little while though, so be patient and keep reading please.
I know that ZMA is marketed as some sort of night time pro-hormone replacement kinda thing. But, I understand that it also has a side benefit of resulting in better sleep. On one of the strength training forums I visit, the members agreed that as far as its testosterone increase effectiveness, ZMA is useless. But, a great number of posters did say that it helped with sleeping. Also, these people are skeptical when it comes to supplements.
So here is my question. When you say it's crap, are you only talking about it's supposed testosterone boosting ability? Or are you saying it doesn't result in better sleep too?
Curious, 'cause my interest is only from the sleep enrichment aspect.
Thanks,
Jack
ps. Oh yeah, doesn't aspertate mean that the zinc and magnesium are chelated?

All that ZMA really is, is a mineral formula. It contains Zinc, Monomethioine Aspartate, Magnesium Aspartate, and Vitamin B-6.
Supposedly, the affects of ZMA have been clinically proven to increase hormone levels and muscle strength, but there is yet to be released info on this from a valid source. Go buy zinc and magnesium and take before bed and you will be good to go. Of course, all this will really do is help you sleep better, so in my opinion, waste of money. The fact is that if you are eating a well balanced diet, you should be getting enough of zinc and magnesium anyway to befine.
It's testosterone boosting abilites have proven to be false. Take a look at this study...it is at the bottom of this pdf...

Hey Saint,
Why do you consider better sleep a waste of money?

I consider it a waste of money because you can buy the ingredients that you need for better sleep at Walmart. All you need are zinc and magnesium. Why spend all that money on some designer product that studies have shown to make false claims on testoterone booting with the only benefit being better sleep, when you can spend 1/4 the price and get the only thing that you really get out of the product, which is better sleep?
I guess it seems like a no-brainer to me.

I got ya now Saint. I always had my doubts about ZMA as a testosterone booster. But as stated in my first post, I don't really care about that aspect of ZMA anyway. I always intended to by zinc, magnesium and perhaps B6 seperately.
Anyhow what got me confused was your statement....

It sounded to me like your saying better sleep isn't worth buying zinc and mag. But like I said, I with you now.
Thanks for the response,
Jack
