Contacts vs. Address book

I use Windows Outlook for my e-mail as the contact folder in it gives me plenty of room to store information like adresses and internal contacts etc.. for my vendors and clients. I somehow thought these entries would also populae the address book in my accessories section of Windows, but it doesn't. Is there any way to import them into my address book also? Is there any way to save my contact book to disc as a back-up?

These are two separate programs; you can export your contacts to a CSV file and then import it into the Windows address book, and you backup Outlook the same way except that you export to a .pst file

Windows Address Book ... File – Import and Export – Export to a File – Comma Separated Values (Windows)

To backup Outlook: Import and Export – Export to a File – Personal File Folder
