That perfect tone in your head
Have you found it yet?
To me, there is a perfect guitar tone in my head. The perfect combination of guitar, wood, pickups, electronics, amp, room acoustics... etc...
I dont know if I will ever find it, but I keep trying.
Right now I love the tone my '62 reissue Stratocaster is getting playing through a Line 6 Delay Modeler of a Echoplex, with an AC Booster pedal for just a little grit, going into my Peavey Classic 30 amp.
It has JJ and NOS GE tubes in it, and a Celestion Greenback speaker.
The missing link is a good reverb. The Peavey reverb electronics sucks donkey ****.

Whatever the hell this man did on his first album.
That, IMO, is the best guitar tone ever.
(I know about what the setup was, but damn it sounded nice)
