My "new to me" '95 Mustang GT
UPDATE: Better pics added.
Picked her up yesterday. Last year for the 5.0L HO pushrod motor. 5-speed. Only 67,XXX miles on her. Super clean everywhere. Pretty much stock, except for:
K&N Filter
Original 2.73 gears are replaced with 3.55's
Off Road H-Pipe (non-cat) and Flowmaster mufflers (Sounds awesome)
After market CD player
"Mustang" emblem in the front and "MUSTANG GT" in the rear bumper are a nice goldish tan color to match the interior.

Nice - we had a '99 Explorer that had the pushrod 5.0 in it (I think the very same engine, but maybe tweeked for more torque and less HP), and I LOVED that vehicle and they way it took off from the line. Please do post some pics!;f

The 5.0's are torquier (however you spell it) motors than the 4.6s (displacement does that). Definately a good start.
As for the rims, I am still a sucker for anything Bullit style. They just look TOO good on stangs. Cobra R style rims look dang good too.

Glad you like the new addition - looks good. I have a pic somewhere of a green SN95 with Saleen wheels, looks amazing. If I find it I'll post it up.

only if he was going to get some Fikse FM/5s. turbos are ok, but above 500rwhp they are difficult to tune with the stock mustang pcms of that era. i had a TTI street kit on my 93 for 5 years. before that i had an s-trim on my 91 lx for 2 years.

I saw the thread you posted. Yours does look a lot like mine. Any problem areas I should look out for? I am pretty new to Fords, and to Mustangs, so I don't know what little quirks or problem areas they have.
What color is your interior?

Those were the two options I was looking at too. I think I like the Bullit style the best. Time to go to ebay and find a nice set.

if it starts having a random miss fire under load if its not a burned plug wire its probably the ignition module. not a lot goes wrong with those cars. they are pretty tough.
on another note, i layed teh beat down to some squirrel in a 96-98 cobra today. he revved at me and then took off. wouldnt let me get up next to him, kept weaving in and out of cars. when i finally got up next to him by a stop light i made sure to make that ass whoopin hurt. i had 2 car lengths on him by the end of second gear. ;f

My interior is dark grey cloth. Mine is the GTS version, which gets the econo LX interior and exterior.

Those LT1 F-body cars are just too fast. Thats why I have no intentions of racing one any time soon. ;Q

i wouldnt be to afraid if i were you. most of them are beat up old automatic cars that didnt make **** for power to begin with and would be lucky to get into the low 14s. i just got a good one and i maintain the snot out of it. watch out for the LS1s tho, some of them are pretty quick

He should be afraid. I owned a 96 LT1 Civilian Caprice. It had 3.73's, intake mod and custom OBDI conversion computer. Stock automatic Mustangs were seldom a problem. It ran mid 14's. Stock with 2.93 gears it ran low 15's and even then would beat up some GT's.
BTW, I like Mustangs. They have potential. If I can find a good one (I missed one a few weeks ago) I'll grab it in a heartbeat.

LT1's are not to be feared like LS1's. My buddy raped an LT1
Z28 on the highway last summer with his 15.1/92mph '85 SVO. Yes, a four-cylinder. Granted, we're at elevation so the SVO has a huge advantage over the n/a LT1, and it's got mad top-end anyway.
I wouldn't pick on one with a stock '94-'95 GT, though.

At the present time, I have no intentions of messing with any LT1 cars. I am not into racing much anyway, and the cops around here are good about watching any kind of sports car anyways.
I just like driving the car, and listening to that sweet Mustang exhaust. I love that sound.

Nice ride, but if it were me, I'd ditch the gold trim...unless you're into that sort of pimpalisciousness.
I don't know what your long term plans are, but the sky is the limit for the 5.0 based cars.
I recently sold a 1993 notch and my wifes 1993 Hatchback...both 5.0/5 speed cars.
First couple of things you need to do are done..exhaust and air filter.
If you don't have them on your car, get a set of welded in subframe connectors. The Fox platform cars (1979-2004) are notoriously FLIMSY...they will stiffen up the ride and improve the handling and launching, as well as protecting the car from twisting itself apart on 'spirited launches'.
The SN95 (95-98) mustangs are great cars...yes, they are heavier than the original fox bretheren, but they have decent brakes, and you can run 18" wheels/tires with no problems, and they will corner like a mother if you use quality suspension parts.
I don't know how mechanically inclined you are, but the heads and intake are the biggest bottlenecks in terms of making power...the stock cam is actually quite good, and if you were to change the Heads and intake, and go wtih 1.7:1 Roller Rockers, you'd be surprised at how fast you could go on the stock cam. A set of AFR165's, Edelbrock Performer Intake, 65 mm TB, and 75 mm MAF meter will get you knocking on the door of 300 RWHP with some tuning and patience...all the while keeping a stock idle and driveability.

I have all the respect in the world for LS1 powered cars, but they are hardly to be feared either.
