TC Encore Shooters

Does anyone here shoot the Encore? I want to pick one up, but don't know much about them.

I have two

and three barrels. I have a blue Encore rifle frame with a 24" .308 Win barrel and a 26" camo 20 ga. turkey barrel.

I just picked up an Encore Pro-Hunter stainless pistol frame and a blue 12" .480 Ruger barrel.

They are a fun gun and mine are accurate. They are addicting though since there are so many calibers you can add to your collection.

I don't have an Encore, but I've owned my Contender for over 24 years.

I'm a contender man myself. Contender is much lighter and will do everything you need to do around here. I've got handgun barrels in 6.8spc and 357 max.

I want to add 45-70 to my cabinet. The Encore is the only frame up to this, correct?

You can shoot 45-70 in the contender and the encore. However you can load it up in the Encore. You can also shoot .308win on up in the Encore and not the Contender.

They will both handle any game we have going with the likes of the .375 JDJ and 45-70 though.

I think that the Pro-Hunter in 45-70 has stolen my heart. Oh well, time to pull the trigger on a new TC!

Really like the T/Cs. I shot a groundhog at 321 yards with the 14" .223 barrel. I also shot big bore (10" .44mag) and .22 (10") silhouette for a long time with them.

I have the stock and a 16" 7-30 Waters barrel for deer hunting. Makes a nice piece for carrying on the 4-wheeler.

Never bought into the Encore series - I do like that those frames will handle the pressures of larger rifle cartridges.

Wifie has Encore in .308 with .50 muz barrel. Has taken one shot bambi for the last 8 years. She is a lefty so Encore was best option for equiping her in multiple options (also has .44 mag pistol barrel). It's a compact that's very accurate and versatile. Would recommend.

I have an Encore, with a .308 barrel, and the 209X50 muzzleloader barrel. I am extremely pleased with the 50 cal barrel. At 100 yards, the bullet wholes touch. This year I took a deer at exactly 145 yards using TC's shockwave 250 grain sabots over 110 grains of pyrodex. The Encore lockup when closing the action is as precise and tight as any firearm ever made.

The .308 barrel is a little less impressive from the accuracy standpoint. For hunting purposes it's more than adequite, but it isn't what I would call a tack driver. I have shot a few other rifles that would print a group the third the size of the encore.

The versatility of the Encore is unsurpassed, and at time of purchaseing, the innitial investment isn't to bad. I've had mine for four years, and when I first bought mine, additional barrels could be purchased for under 200 bucks. Now they are up to 260 dollars! I at one time, thought it would be cool to get a 12 guage barrel! Price them, and an additional forearm for the shotgun barrel and OUCH! See how much you will have invested in a single shot shotgun. 870's seem really cheap in comparison!
