I a lot of people use a white crayon. You can also buy special grease pencils for it. I didn't have either so I used a heat-gun to heat the slide up and then used a white pencil (like from a colored-pencil set that you would use in 5th grade art class). It turned out pretty good I'll have to post a picture here!

It's an odd collection but it's mine.
G26, G30sf, XD40, S&W 22A, S&W Model 66-3, Ruger LCP and the CMMG.
Why buy the same ammo for two different guns.
