Heretic was the salt in the atheist's soup. I haven't posted in RI's in quite awhile because the post-Heretic posts seem boring and mundane.

Been gone for a bit !

I have been gone for some time, and just logged on, I was looking forward to see what some of the old crowd had to say. That was not what I expected. I am truly sad, some of the best discutions ever came from that man!

I haven't posted around here for quite a while, but I remember Heretic vividly and really liked his style.

Heretic was a great read and thought provoking to both sides.

Goodbye Heretic.

I am just finding this and am sad to hear of his death. I have read his posts on this forum and others for years. He was always level headed and a good example of an atheist. As a proud atheist myself, it was nice to have a little company. Often we are vastly out numbered but heretic could always hold his own in conversations and discussions about religion.

Its been a long time since I have been on this forum but I have very fond memories of Heretic and his elegantly worded queries at the edge of the abyss to which he was most certainly not afraid of gazing into.

This article reminded me of Heretic since we didn't know for quite a long time what had happened to him:

Oh, well. I didn't agree with him but will miss him as a human being.
Christian pacifism is an option not a requirement.

The Christian faith is in no way pacifistic.
