Hey JR,

Please sign me up for the frame testing. I have four hundred rounds ready and more on the way.

Best regards,

Fred

Guys, on the below pic, does it look the the beveled nose on the LW slide doesn't match up with the new LW squared frame (2 toned example, not the long slide)? Seems a shame if this is what winds up in full production for the frame without a beveled option...

Hey, I would like to know, from looking at that pic, would we have to change the spring rod when adding a comp to the gun?

By the looks of the pictures, is it safe to assume that you will NOT be making a backstrap that will make the grip the same size as the current Glock frame? Pictures look like a "small" or "medium" type back strap.

I don't mind the normal Glock size and I would like to install a magwel, but if the grip size is not the same (or can be made the same) as a Glock frame I don't think any magwel would fit... that would force me back to buying a stock Glock and working from there to build a competition pistol.

Sorry if this has been talked about before.

“spring rod”… Do you mean guide rod and recoil spring?
It depends on the caliber and the ammo you are going to run through the comp. If you are going to use weaker ammo, you will need a lighter recoil spring.

Yeah, that. .357 Sig and .45 ACP. I read somewhere that you'd have to use a metal guide rod, any truth to this? And, no, if I'm using a comp, it's not because I'm going to push weaker ammo through it...

A metal guide rod is not required, it makes it easier if you want to change spring weight but you do not need to have one when using our comps.

No I don't think we are going to have any room on that one, sorry.

The truth is that building yourself a custom Glock will add up to about double what the factory Glock comes up to.

I want one of these specifically for the beavertail feature. Is that still in the design?

this thread was a great long read!

JR,

New here. Just completed reading the entire 15 page thread. I'm a new Glock 22 owner that hates the stock finger groves on the OEM grip! Ha! It seems your finger groves are a bit less pronounced so, I'm very interested in this new LWD lower. On a personal note, I just wanted to say that I admire how calmly you responded to some of the less than *positive* post, comments, and or seemingly snap / judgmental critiques. Looking forward to seeing hearing the update on this product.

They were supposed to be available right after SHOT (Jan '09). We have been working on a few minor issues and hope to have them resolved very soon

for the competitive shooters out there, does anyone know if these frames will qualify as a Stock service pistol in IDPA since they are...not a modification but a factory design?

Once we get on our feet we will contract to have 2 thousand built. This will qualify the gun to run legal in the SSP (IDPA) and production (USPSA) categories.

We have several well known builders and shooters that provided a lot of input regarding this frame. Believe me when I tell you, every one of them signed off on the finger grips. They are a non issue even to guys that do not want them.

If we are able to work it out I will be sure to take every part that is currently listed as "illegal" and incorporate them into our design. Light weight strikers, stainless guide rods, fiber optic sights, front serrations, magwells, whatever they call illegal I want it on the gun!

The 19/23 will follow right after the release of the Timber Wolf in April. I figure this compact frame should be available by Winter, just in time for Christmas
Bump!
