I use 45 grains of Varget, 155 Hornady AMax, and Winchester cases and primers. Have not found a load that will beat this one yet.

In your case it's called stringing.
In my case it's one right into the other. That's 1 hole.

My accuracy load is a 168 grain A-MAX over 43.2 grains of Varget, Winchester case, CCI Large Rifle Primer, 2.800 OAL. Averages 2,585fps out of my 24" barrel Rem 700. 1/2 MOA is pretty standard with this combo for me.
One of the nice things about the .308... it ain't that finicky. Let us know how it works out for you.

Careful with copy cat reloading.....loads worked up in WW or Lapua cases fired Federal brass is NOT A GOOD IDEA!
Do the work yourself!
Brass WW or Lapua
Powder and potential primer combos....
Varget with BR2
RL15 with Fed210M/BR2
IMR 4064 or 4895 with WLR
N150 or 540 with BR2
Pure accuacy look at Nosler or Sierrra OTM in 175gr.

++above, I prefer 168 gr Sierra match bthp bullets with Varget. I can cover a 300yd group with a quarter for 5 shots. Building up yourself assures safety. I have several 308 rifles, one does not like the load.

Do you only use that? Or is it just examples from your load data? Or once you use the lapua brass once you throw it away? I dont see it listed in your once fired rounds for practice and you only use NEW brass for hunting? The Barnes and Berry's likes CCI but Lapua prefers WLR?

Throw away Lapua Brass...that's Sacrilege!..lol
No I keep it, Since they are hunting loads, I only shoot about 3 every so often to make sure the rifle is still sighted in for that round. I have about 20 used once lapua brass, that's waiting to be loaded for some practice hunting loads. I bought a box of a 100 some time ago, and since these cases are anealed, they last longer then regular cases.
I acutally have about 10 personal configurations for the .308, the listed are the preffered rounds that shoot great for my .308.
Some of those personal configurations are also the same, but the brass is marked for the number of times that has been used.
The Barnes and Berry's started out when all I had was CCI primers and that is what they were tested as. The Lapua was started when I had Winchester Primers for the first batch as well. I've tested out the Berry's with Winchester and they shot just as well. I only use the new Lapua for hunting at this time is only because I just use this brass only for this configuration. I have plenty of other new and used brass that I use for the other rounds that I make.
So must of the data I gave you was more of a suggestion that you can use that I have found to shoot well for my .308 and that has not caused any damage to myself or my rifle.
A good book to use to look up a majority of the bullets and powder is the "The Complete Reloading Manual for the .308 Winchester", which you can order of midwayusa. If you had the "My Loaders Log" Application, I would be able to send you the xml files that I have for the .308. Or I can zip them up for you and you can look at them through your browser if you want.

Well I was going to say I would take that nasty ol' once fired Lapua off your hands if you didn't have a use for it
That "My Loaders Log" Looks pretty slick, you made it?

hee hee..I was going to ask you the same thing , if they didn't cost so much I would have all my rounds in Lapua Brass.
Yep that is one of the apps that I have designed. I use it for all my personal configurations and even transfered some of the configurations from books to it so I can have one place to look it all up.
I once had a thread on this forum for a discount for the My Gun Collection application that had a discount key for the entire site that took off 5 bucks from the price of each product, but it looks like they took it down. If you are interested the discount code is
14G1-0CK4-U2N0
Either way, if you want the XML files, I can send you those as well. I attached a sample of the XML file and the PDF Print out for another config. The XML is pretty easy to read.

Surprised that nobody mentioned Winchester 748. I use a 168 Sierra BTHP on top of 45.9 grains seated to an OAL of 2.800" with Federal match brass and a Federal primer. Choronographs identical to the Federal Gold Medal match load.
I know that others have had issues with Federal brass, but i have a never ending supply of match brass from the sniper team at the PD where I work and the brass has always treated me well. In my Remington 700, they shoot better than 1/2 MOA.
Most of the powders listed above by the others are harder to get in my neck of the woods in Kansas City, MO. Hodgdon and Winchester are easy.
