Kimber Super Carry

looks like Kimber is joining the bobtail action now. think MSRP is ~$1500

they should've left out the FCS on this one.

Bout time. From their quality (as far as I've seen) I hope to see dealer prices much lower than that.

Looks like this is not a series "II" either. Pretty interesting depending on how price shakes out

Good looker. I like the bob's transition. Looks custom.

Looks interesting. I like the solid trigger but the grip safety looks weird to me.

unless Kimber is buying smooth bobtail MSH from EB, then machining the scales on it.

The shape of the Kimber is different that EB. Unless Kimber spec'ed it that way.

I never gave a thought of Kimber using EB parts and paying royalties like Dan Wesson. I just suspect Kimber is blatantly copying EB, and doing a bad job at it.

How could EB file a suit? He simply has a trademark on the name Bobtail, much different that a patent on the process.

Is this a non-series II gun? If so I'm gonna be halfway impressed.

Yeah, its surely not an EB bobtail.

I'll tell you what, I really like it.

If its a Series I, I may pick one up. I don't own any Series I Kimbers or any 5" 1911s with a bobtail.

Other than the front serrations, I like everything about it. The hammer looks like it was taken from the SIS and is different than other current Kimbers. I also like the solid trigger quite a bit. The grips are very nice too.

I'm not seeing it on their website yet.

I agree they are a appealing 1911 in many ways. I am not a FCS guy but those are not bad, reminds me of some I have seen on a Brown Kobra Carry before. If these retail for under $1400 or so I would be interested as well.

That could be a EB MSH, looks similar to a their "snakeskin" bob'ed MSH with a touch of melt. Hard to tell from the pics. Man if Kimber used EB parts, they'd actually be worth $1000+

Yeah that would be it. I like those because they are smaller than normal FCS. The ones on the new Kimber are nice as well.

I like it. I wonder if a Pro or even an Ultra model might be around the corner. They could at least round the butt on the Ultra model.

Yep,...that Pro looks nice.
With no "II"" markings,......one would believe these are of the "model 70"
trigger design. Kinda like the old Pro Carry model,...no firing pin safety.
