I've gone back and forth on that - I will likely only buy 1911s in the future. But there are a few handguns I own that are not 1911s that I would never sell

Gotta' have some good wheelguns. Maybe a Glock or two. And a Ruger 22 for the breakin' in the newbies (well, I still enjoy it too honestly). And I still gotta' get a P7. Oh, and lot's more 1911's.

I could never part with my 26, but I will only purchase 1911's from here on.

I know all about the love and loyalty of 1911's. All I ever owned and carried for over 30 years.
I have a 21sf that is a good dependable gun that holds plenty of 45's and is about as durable as a gun should be.
Perfect carry gun that is cheaper than any 1911 that I would consider owning.
I don't limit myself to one type of firearm no matter how much I like them.
Of all my 1911's I have none that have shot over 7000 rounds without a single failure like my 21 and my 36.
I don't consider the Glocks in the same class as a 1911, but they do serve a purpose very well.

But Okie, there's so much more to experience in the handgun world. That's like vowing to only eat oatmeal for the rest of your life.

Okie:
We must also fall into the naughty, naughty unfaithful cheater category. We agree that few handgun designs can equal Mr. Browning's 1911A1; and the handgun that can surpass it has yet to be devised. Still, we have a few other handguns that are not 1911A1 and are not going anywhere in the foreseeable future.
We trudge on (cheating).

Sorry okie.
As big a 1911 fan as I am, I do like variety in semi autos and also love revolvers.

Going 1911-only is akin to a vow of celibacy. -it might work for some, just not for me.

Almost without exception I have since 1980 owned one or more 1911's. But I have not owned only 1911's. Currently I own a nice SA Mil.Spec. ans well as several S&W revolvers (M-18, M-28, M-625) and a G-22RTF. These are the handguns that best serve my needs and interest. I very much enjoy the 1911. I cannot see a time that I will not want to own and enjoy using one. But I very pleased with and enjoy using the other handguns I own. Sincerely. Brucev.

Not sure what a hand arm is, but here's a bear arm.

No way, I carry 1911s and there's one next to my bed but there are too many other good platforms not to own a few. I am selling my glocks off and I'm down to 8 or so, with more going on the selling block. I've been buying up Steyrs and just picked up another M&P.

This is the route I am going, currently down to just 1911s and a single BHP. I see both side of the issue but feel what is best for me is to concentrate on 1911s only.

I currently own 9 1911's and 1 colt comander, but all I carry are magnum snub revolvers.Carried since 1980 and have gone back and forth on my carry guns and a revolver is my current favorite.
And I still own a glock 26

If I did not go only 1911 I might well go only K Frame S&W, that is a fine line of revolvers IMO.

Unlike women, guns do not get jealous when you love another gun.
They do not mind sharing space in the safe with other guns and they do not mind when you give your attention to the other gun.
In other words... it's ok to have different guns at the same time.
Now... different calibers is another thing...

I tried the whole, "Im only going to have one platform of gun"...
It didn't work for me though.
I love my single stack shooters. I also love my double stack shooters as well.
My 9MM shooters will always be Glocks. I do have a single stack 9MM shooter. One I will never sell. H&K P7M8.
I have my Sig P220s that will never get sold either.
My main carry guns are 1911s. They will be the only guns I purchase for carry and shooting from now on. The others will be used whenever they will be needed.
