New P30!

All that I can say is WOW! What a fine shooting gun. 300 rounds down range today without a single problem and darn is this thing accurate. I sold my Glock 21SF and some mags to a friend to fund my new purchase and I'm not sorry in the least. IF anyone is considering one of these fine pistols, all that I can say is it's money well spent! HK, if your reading this, this pistol is another job well done! Keep it up!

Congratulations.

I sold my last Glock (G19) to buy my P30.
It was a very good decision.

The P30 is the perfect pistol.

I am considering the same....selling by Glock 19 for the P30.

I just got the HK 45c and have to say it is amazing! Thus the potential switch for my 9mm.

Question.....anyone sell their G19 and buy the P30 and have regrets? I am very close to making the switch, but am looking for honest opinions.

As I noted above, the HK 45c was incredible and my first HK. Now I have the bug and cannot stop until I buy another!

I've not regretted my decision one bit.
I definately prefer the P30 over the Glock19.

I'll never say anything negative about Glocks because they're fine pistols,
but I prefer an external hammer and the SA/DA trigger.

A P30 would make an excellent companion to your HK45C.

If your just looking for an HK replacement for your G19, you might also
consider the USP9 Compact. It's close in size to the G19, and one
great 9mm compact.

Thanks. I haven't looked at the USP Compact....worth comparing to the P30. They seem pretty similar in size. The P30 felt great in my hand...will have to find the USP.

The USPc and P30 IMO do not compare. The P2000 is an evolution of the USP and the P30 is an evolution of the P2000. The ergos and pic rail gained with the P30 are simply deal breakers when comparing the P30 to the USPc. With that said, the USP is an awesome weapon and is built like a tank. Just m .02.

I am very curious at to opinions of the P30 vs P2000 (9mm). I have read alot online and most people talk about the grip of the P30...but are there other factors why make that one stand above the other? The reason I ask is that I LOVE the grip on my HK 45c and P2000 seems to be closer to that than the 30.

I am looking for open and honest opinions.

The P30 has the extended mag release and pic rail over the P2000; however, the mag release on the P2000 can be swapped out with one of the newer (larger) one's.

So, it's been a year and a half. Do you still have the P30 and how do you feel about it now?

I just picked up a 9mm LEM. Still trying to get used to it but it could replace my Glock 19 for carry.

I just culled out my all of my safe queens. Along with them I sold my G23 (with a G32 barrel that I have carried for 10+ years) and upgraded to a P2000 sk in 357 Sig for carry. I also bought an HK45c and two P30s (9mm & .40). Haven't really put them all through their paces, but so far all appear to be reliable and dead nuts accurate.

I was like a kid in a candy store after my consignments sold. Got all the HKs and even got a check back from my local gun shop.

Congratulations on a very good purchase. The P30 is certainly the best pistol HK has ever made, and one of the best pistols on the market. It might be the best Tupperware available.

I agree with all the opinions above on the P30. I think it's the finest 9mm on the market right now. That's not a knock on the G19. I've carried one of those for the last ten years as my CCW but the P30 has the best ergonomics and fit and finish of any Polymer 9mm on the market today. I'd love to see HK make a compact version of the P30

I really like mine but not sure I would carry it because my thumb hits the slide release keeping it from locking back on the last round.

So you really think you would have a self defense situation where you would use all 15 rounds and have to do an emergency reload?

First off this isn't about reloading in a self defense situation. I am not quite sure where your response came from unless you are just padding your post count. I was just stating my opinion. Keep it on topic.

I have no need or desire to pad my post count. I just don't see how your thumb causing the slide to not lock open could be an issue in a carry weapon. Some carry weapons don't even have slide locks. Now if it was a gaming gun I can see it being an issue.

Yeah, that's never happened in the history of self-defense. Why even carry a 15-rounder?

Anyway, if one's thumb is riding the slide-lock it's possible that may induce other problems. Either change your grip or get a different gun.

That is why you spend lots of range time to try out what you are going to be using to protect your butt. That is also why I don't carry the P-30. I really, really like it- but not for carry.
