The 6.8mm SPC has no noticeable recoil in a semi-auto rifle as heavy as an AR.

I did find that installing a beefier aftermarket square-wire chrome-silicon recoil spring took some of the annoying characteristic AR-15 "sprooooing!" out of firing my Stag, however.

If you shoot the two back to back you can tell the recoil is greater but really it's pretty much the same. It certainly is a lot closer to the 5.56 than it is to something like a .308 or 30-06.
