Looks great, both the gun and carpet.
You just have to angle the pics a bit now.

"Hey everyone, check this out on GunBroker!" No kidding though, this has been the best unplanned gun purchase I've made.

I believe its the Baer SRP with the 1.5" guarantee, that I mentioned in this thread. I'm glad of of our members got it.
It was a great deal, but I already have the same one.

Thanks Yep. That's the one. I love that gun. Probably the best, no, hell, it is the best looking Nighthawk I've ever seen. Has every feature I desire on a 1911.

Definitely.
I've been dealing with Gunbroker a while now and it was certainly a "buy it now" auction.
...which is exactly what happened.

Thanks guys for the comments. I too am glad that one of our members bought it
Spending that much on a gun was not even on the radar. However, getting a dud SRP was unlikely, and the price point was hard to beat. I put 250 rounds through it on Friday. It was my 2nd range trip of the day, so I only stayed fresh for about 30 minutes. During that time I felt like I was shooting laser beams. The accuracy of this pistol is ridiculous. Now if the shooter was a little more consistent...
The SRP is exactly how everyone has described - a shooter's shooter. It's a no frills working gun. The checkering really grabs your hand, similar to my old TRP, but a little kinder. Even the trigger is a little grippier than I've experienced on others.
A sincere thank you, Brian. You know it's good when even my wife approves

Well that's great, thanks.
I'm so glad I posted it, as I really wanted one of us to pick up a world class 1911 at an unbeatable price. Its feels good to know it went to someone who will appreciate it.

Come on, you're only hurting yourself in the long run.
Seriously, I think Baer may be the best built of the big five semi custom players, with Springfield Custom a very close second. I'm not saying they're as refined, but from a sheer build quality standpoint, they're hard to beat.

some day, but don't think it would be the for the 40th b-day.
maybe another Brown since i was born in Missouri, can get a custom serial number and laser engraving (if i choose to)
if i choose a brown, it would be about a 90day wait anyways.

How about an Infinity for something extra special befitting a 40 B-Day?
Brandon Strayer is a great guy to do business with. Though being a ground up custom built to your specs, lead times are longer than an Ed Brown.
Quack, with your knowledge, you would have an absolute BLAST with Infinity's Gunbuilder. You should try getting drawing one up and getting a quote for later reference, if nothing else. These guys build one hell of a 1911.

My 40th is June 1, 2012. That's a good idea. Baer or Brown. Hmmmmm.
