blade polishing

Hi, I have a dremel tool and the polish set, also an old knife I would like to polish.
Somehow I cant find any info online how to polish a piece of metal with this tool. Using sand paper is very time taking so I thought it would work better with this tool.
Any advice?.

I kind of hate telling you this Chris but with a dremel it will take a very long time to polish a blade unless you sand the surface smooth first.

I would suggest that you hand sand the blade with some 600 grit sandpaper until there are no scratches left then use the green coloured compound on the buffing wheel until all of the 600 scratches are gone.

Alternate sanding directions until you are sure that all of the scratches are gone.
