The 115 JHP win has about 250 more fps and 65 more in muzzle energy vs the 147 win ranger t-series that is only 990. What should I value more when searching for good ammo?
The 45 acp win t-series is 880 fps vs a speer gold dot 185 JHP which is 1050 fps. Does the 185 round have more recoil than the 230?

Troy, in 9mm Luger a 115 grain JHP at +P/+P+ velocity (1250-1350 fps) will usually give you a very wide wound channel about 10" deep in calibrated ballistic gelatin, while I'd expect the 147 grain subsonic Ranger to go more like 13" with a narrower corollary wound track.
In .45 ACP, the 230 grain JHP seems to recoil somewhat more than the 185 grain when both are loaded to standard pressure.
