temperature extremes

Hi, My question is with all guns in general and there ammo but what are excessive temperatures? it can get hot in the car 200 degrees maybe. Are guns and ammo able to withstand high and lo temps with out distorting the slide on my new Glock 17 or does ammo degrade in temp. extremes?
Thank you

Good question.
The Glock will take that kind of heat and stay reliable. The ammo, will suffer for sure. You can perform a simple test to prove it to yourself. Go out and purchase 2 boxes of .22LR, leave one box at home in the cool dark closet and put the other box on your dash for a week. Take the 2 boxes out to the range and see which one shoots a group? You will be shocked at the difference in accuracy!
Always do what you can to keep your ammo cool for as long as possible
