Hi guys, looking for approx. value of my Hi-Power with Nazi markings
I just bought this package today. It's a Hi-Power 9mm from WWII with the eagle and swastika stampings. It was a war bring back, that I bought from the gentleman's daughter after he passed away. It has (what I believe to be) the original holster, and comes with two magazines. One in the gun, and one for the carrier attached to the holster. It's in beautiful shape, and functions wonderfully. All serial numbers match on the frame, slide and barrel. I've never seen one before that was in this condition and had both the holster, and the second magazine. What would you estimate this as a package deal to be worth?
Thanks!

It looks legit to me. From the dimple on the right side and where the Waffenamts proofs are, it appears to be a real 640b. If the grips are original to the gun it was made after 1942 (holster stamp seems to confirm that)
Real nice package! Neat to find it all together matching like that.
The last one I have seen for sale was 3 years ago. It was all matching #'s no spare mag and no holster. I believe it sold for $700ish. I don't follow them so that might not be a realistic price now days.
They made something around 300,000 of them.
Do you have any paperwork proving it was a bring back? Or did he just toss it in his duffel bag?
If you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay for it?

Thanks for the info! I don't have any paperwork...I think he just threw it in his dufflebag as you stated, or it disappeared over the last 60 years. His daughter didn't even know he had it until after he passed away...and her son found it and was playing with it!
As for what I paid...
$400

Yeah 99% were just tossed in a bag and brought home. If you had Army paperwork marking it as a war trophy, it might bring a premium was the only reason I asked.
$400 is a very reasonable price, you didn't rip her off and you got a good deal. Probably paid her just a bit over what a gun shop would have bought it for. So everyone can be happy
Nice gun, enjoy it!
Oh one other question I just thought of! Does it have the magazine safety installed? (cock the hammer and without a magazine in the gun can you pull the trigger?)
I seem to remember something about them not having mag safety's latter in the war but could be wrong.

In that condition with holster and mags it should be worth anywhere from $1,000-$1200. I am a gun collector.
