Mike Willard (SwampFox) Passed Away
All:
Fellow GT'ers, I have sad news. Mike Willard, the owner of SwampFox Ammo, passed away on 11/05/2011.
Well known for his "Nuclear" 10mm ammunition, Mike often contributed to general 10mm and reloading discussions. Those of us who had the opportunity to talk with him knew he didn't just make great ammo, he was an all around nice guy.
Because he ran his business all by himself, he did not have any employees to notify us about his passing. I spoke with his brother this afternoon while inquiring about an order I had with SwampFox. (I apologize for not getting his name.) His brother said that there was nobody to take over his business and that SwampFox Ammo would be shut down. (He talked about how Mike had his own recipies for his ammo and he didn't write any of it down.)
I felt that inquiring futher about my order was not appropriate, so I do not have any information to assist those of us with credit card charges but no ammo. Sorry I can't help you there.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Mike and his family/friends. He will be missed.

That sucks. RIP.
Oddly enough the father of Elite Ammunition's owner just passed as well.

Yes he was! Super nice too, he'd do whatever he could to help
a link to his obituary may be found in the "Mike@swampfox" thread here in the 10ring forum...
Perhaps a 21 (10mm) gun salute is in order. Haha, we should organize a national 10mm magazine dump at a specific time as a tribute...

R.I.P. Mike
I have no words at this time. Since I was a newbie, Mike took special time with me. He called me with advice several times to keep me safe. I am deeply saddened by this.
I exchanged emails with Mike on Nov. 4, 2011. It is listed below:
JJ, Yes, the shipping calculator is not correct.
I don't process the orders automatically.
I edit them and send a new invoice if the shipping is not correct.
Then process it. You should have gotten a second invoice with corrections if there were any.
The corrections would be made to match the shipping table that can be seen by using the shipping table link in the top right corner of the site.
If the shipping was correct you may not have gotten a new invoice.
The search for good help continues. I'm talking to someone tomorrow but don't know.
ThanksMike

Hi Mike, I noticed the note on your site stating that the shipping was off and you were confirming by email. Did I need to do anything? And how is the search going for more help? I saw where your last guy didn't work out.
Let me know if you need anything from me.

G29SF: Thanks for digging into Mike's situation!
I am very sorry to hear this news. That is a major bummer for the 10mm community and those of us who considered him a friendly individual within the internet community of Glock talk.
Mike was a real cool guy - we had lots of conversations both on the forum and via private message.
This is a guy who cared. He cared about the community, about people, about the 10mm, about the shooting sports and aspired where others dared not tread.
This sucks.
I hope we have someone else come along with a similar background to his and start churning out serious 10mm cartridges for the non-reloading fans of this versatile cartridge.
We will miss you brother!
Best,
Kegs

Very sad, he seemed like a great ambassador to the 10mm and overall nice guy.

I pray he is with the LORD and Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. If you die tonight, do you know where you will spend eternity? Repent and trust the Savior, and you too, will be granted eternal life!! God Bless Mike's family.

Wow... I'm floored. Extremely sad news. Thoughts go out to his family and friends. I'm sure he's up there shooting the mighty 10mm in the big gun range in the sky.
RIP, bro.
