I have been very fortunate to know some wonderful people within the shooting community...people who are friendly and willing to share their time and experience to help me become a better shooter, a better competitor, and a better person. Mike embodied that spirit. He generously shared his time and knowledge with the 10mm community. He treated everyone like a friend.

He will be greatly missed.

Thanks, Mike.

I recently spoke with Mike and although I was an idiot when it can to custom ammo he took the time to school me on the important stuff and I could not wait to use his services.

RIP brother :(

Oh, man. That makes me sad.

As said, he always seemed like a genuinely pleasant and honest person. I hope he is enjoying himself in a better place.

Condolences to his loved ones.

I don't even know what to say. Mike was a great guy. I'm sure we will all remember his great ammo for years. It will likely be legendary around here for some time. He REALLY was a great guy. Those words get tossed around pretty freely, but they are certainly applicable here. Even though he was struggling to keep his ammo manufacturing business afloat, he would help me with load data. I can't imagine ANY other ammo manufacturer sharing trade secrets like that. That's something only a good man would do.

He always seemed very honest and available to his customers, and truly deserved a long life. It's so sad to hear that he's gone, especially at only 50 years of age.

About two seconds before I read this, I was starting to worry about Mike and Swampfox. I was thinking about how severely this Underwood company is going to cut into his business. I was hoping he would find some way to compete. Obviously, that is no longer a concern. It's a sad day for the 10mm community. I just wish I would have known before the funeral, so I could have sent flowers or something.

Mike, you will be missed. Rest in peace.

Is there something we could do here in the 10 ring of a more permanent nature?

I was thinking the same thing. Mike is definitely deserving of some sort of tribute.

I only know Mike from reading here, but it's sad to hear someone who is an asset to the 10mm community leaves this world way too young. Perhaps the stress of trying to keep his business alive in these financial difficult times contributed to his unfortunate heart attack.

I never had the chance to buy any of his full power ammo since I live in Europe, and it's too bad all his recipes for full power 10mm ammo will most likely be lost forever.

Also a great loss for this forum as he was someone who really knew what he was talking about and was more than willing to give good advice. Maybe someone with a lot of time on his hands could bundle some of his wisdom that he wrote here in the past year in a sticky thread?

My sincere condolences to his family, dogs and friends. He really seemed to give a whole new generation of 10mm enthusiasts something worth shooting.

RIP Mike

I like the sticky idea. Guess I'm still in shock as I still can't believe Mike isn't with us anymore. At least for me, that's gonna take awhile to get used to.

RIP William Michael Willard. Condolences to his family and all who knew him.

I am very very saddened by this. I really admired and supported his initiative.

Great guy.

Saw this thread and it hit me like a bat to the head. I never bought any of his ammo. But I was very happy he was there to service the 10mm community and it's shooters.
