I just realized Mike and I share the same birthday (Oct 10)... Of course he was a little older. I was born in 1969.

Wow! Not what I expected to read when stopping by the 10 Ring this morning. Definitely saddened by the news, as I also am one of those who really appreciated the extra time Mike always took to make sure I was getting what I needed and would work best for my applications. Rest in peace, Mike. You will be sorely missed.

Very sad news. Condolences to family and friends. Mike, rest in peace knowing that you were the best at what you did.

edit: Dang, Mike was only 1.5 hours North of me. I wish we could have met.

I purchased a box from Mike. I was planning to purchase more ammo, but alas it won't be happening. Although I knew him briefly, he was always very professional and very willing to provide advice on the best ammo for my pistol.

Rest in Peace.

Very very sad, RIP. My last 2 boxes of 200gr xtp HV will represent for him when I eventually fire them off. I'm glad I got a chance to own and experience his exceptional work before he passed.

I have been very fortunate to know some wonderful people within the shooting community...people who are friendly and willing to share their time and experience to help me become a better shooter, a better competitor, and a better person. Mike embodied that spirit. He generously shared his time and knowledge with the 10mm community. He treated everyone like a friend.

He will be greatly missed.

Thanks, Mike.

I recently spoke with Mike and although I was an idiot when it can to custom ammo he took the time to school me on the important stuff and I could not wait to use his services.

RIP brother :(

Oh, man. That makes me sad.

As said, he always seemed like a genuinely pleasant and honest person. I hope he is enjoying himself in a better place.

Condolences to his loved ones.

I don't even know what to say. Mike was a great guy. I'm sure we will all remember his great ammo for years. It will likely be legendary around here for some time. He REALLY was a great guy. Those words get tossed around pretty freely, but they are certainly applicable here. Even though he was struggling to keep his ammo manufacturing business afloat, he would help me with load data. I can't imagine ANY other ammo manufacturer sharing trade secrets like that. That's something only a good man would do.

He always seemed very honest and available to his customers, and truly deserved a long life. It's so sad to hear that he's gone, especially at only 50 years of age.

About two seconds before I read this, I was starting to worry about Mike and Swampfox. I was thinking about how severely this Underwood company is going to cut into his business. I was hoping he would find some way to compete. Obviously, that is no longer a concern. It's a sad day for the 10mm community. I just wish I would have known before the funeral, so I could have sent flowers or something.

Mike, you will be missed. Rest in peace.

Is there something we could do here in the 10 ring of a more permanent nature?

I was thinking the same thing. Mike is definitely deserving of some sort of tribute.
