I have no idea of the origins, but it's not limited to GlockTalk/CopTalk, and is used by many people who are ignorant of the realities of the justice system. It's also not limited to discussions on the internet, I've actually had suspects in an interview complain that they shouldn't have been arrested because we didn't have "probably cause."

A suspect once said to me, "you ain't got no possible cause, you can't search my car". Both myself and zone partner were dieing laughing. I gladly told him he was 100% correct, I don't have possible cause then proceeded to search the vehicle all the while he is still screaming about the police not having possible cause. Keyed up on the radio during a t4 check and held the mic open for the other 100+ on duty in our sector to hear this guy yelling it...Was great! LOL

A few more things I've learned:

1. Despite most LE agencies spending more time and money on firearms training/qualifications than any other topic of training, 99% of cops are horrible shots, and terribly unsafe gun handlers. A person that is not a cop and has had no formal training, is automatically a better/safer shooter, than someone who has had hundreds of hours of formal training on firearms.

2. Because cops have to carry guns for their job, they should all have firearms as their only hobby, and they should abandon all other hobbies, ignore their friends and families, and spend every waking second not spent working, on shooting, dry firing, or researching trivia about firearms. If a cop isn't placing #1 in their local IDPA/IPSC matches, and seriously considering giving Dave Sevigny a run for his money at Nationals, then he is a lousy cop. If a cop can't take a 0.25 second glance at an empty shell casing that is 15 yards away, and immediately tell whether it's a 9mm NATO, 9mm Mak or .380ACP casing, he's a lousy cop.

Heck, if you were told how to access the shotgun, you might as well be sworn in right then and there and given your badge so you can start packing heat too. I mean, that is a threshold that is not easy to cross. Really, that is something truly significant in any man's life!

Pushaw, I can tell those from 9mm Largo, 9x23 Winchester, 38acp, and 38 super from 15 yards away.

You mean, you automatically reject the 38SW, 38Special, 38Long, 38shotshell, and 357magnum as possible suspects just because they might have that little rim that sticks out?

No, the .357 bullet vs .355 for the others, duh.

Wow... you also possess x-ray vision to see the bullet inside the body and also can piece together all the fragments to see it is .002" smaller.

Yeah, eventually I am going to arrest on of them for violating the city ordinance that prohibits spitting on the sidewalk.

That's a damn shame when you think of it. The richest nation in the world, and we got people sharing pants.

We should have more pants per capita than anywhere else in the world...

Maybe they are just practicing the socialist mantra of sharing and to each to his needs.

I've dated some wonderful women, I have dated some that had me running within 1 week. I treat them all very nicely... as much as I can, but I know I am not perfect, nobody is.

Some women take some pushing to get to crazy, some are just crazy.

If I were to spit every time I saw a thug, I would surely die of dehydration.

I don't know about that, I figure the rimmed cartridges stay in the revolver, while the rimless ones are scattered on the ground, unless the bad guy was using his S&W 52.

This was the first Forum that I joined when I started shooting. I cannot begin to tell you the wealth of information I gleaned from this site over the last few years.
After accumulating a lot of the wisdom on this site I feel today that I am a more educated shooter.
In my quest to become proficient in the sport, I have actually been able to dispense my wisdom to newbies.
Thank you all for taking me under your wing.

I learned,

The police are unnecessary, if you own a gun you will never need to call the cops.

Never let facts or logic interfere with your opinions.

Always judge things with hindsight after all the facts known. Never consider actions according to what someone knew or reasonably believed at the time they took action.

Even after your post has been demolished and your "facts" dis proven just keep repeating the same drivel over and over again like it's the truth.

When getting your ass handed to you in a debate deflect, deflect, deflect. NEVER admit your views are not supported by facts or logic, deflect and change tactics.

Proclaim your self a champion of liberty and freedom loudly damning what you perceive to be infringements on YOUR liberty and freedom while supporting restrictions on other peoples freedoms and liberties to get what you want.

Many upstanding posters proclaim themselves certified law abiding good guys while apparently having regular contact with the police in regards to their driving habits.

After having thousands of posts where you have expressed your opinions, ideas, and revealed the general level of your intelligence make sure to tell any opponent that takes issue with you that they know NOTHING about you.

I was hit head-on yesterday by a drunk driver who crossed the center line into my lane. The local cops, who were on the scene in less than 2 minutes, carted the other driver off in cuffs. Open carry would NOT have prevented anything, in this case. The local cops were superb.

PS I'm fine. Stiff and sore as hell, but fine. Seat belts and airbags saved my face. Brand new truck was demolished. Fire dept (also superb) had to cut me out of the truck. Photos to follow.
