I don't think Ohio would be so bad if the flippin' .gov could get their head out of their asses and start bringing in jobs instead of running them out!!!

You might look at Oklahoma , very conservative , the Govenor is a Republican and the house is Majority Republican , the state is big time 2nd amendment , the people are friendly here , granted in the inner cities of OKC and Tulsa you will have the same strife any other city has , but not quite as bad , gangstas here no WE CARRY TOO!

I live in NE Oklahoma ,"green country" , you might like it here!

Ohio isnt bad at all regarding gun laws. The only problems are the limitation on mags over 30rds, and the recent law which makes having a firearm (unloaded) and a loaded magazine or speedloader the same as a loaded gun....
The mag limit allows you to own bigger mags but not use them, and I can live with 30rds.
The loaded magazine thing is just plain stupid...I can't believe it is legal to drive around with an M1 Garand and a bando of loaded enblocs with one in my shirt pocket, but I could be arrested for a glock 17 unloaded in a case with a range bag full of loaded mags.
...And most of my shooting buds who dont follow the news are unaware of the change.

Lived in Marietta from 3 days after I was born until I left the house at 18, but I was born in Pburg, WV. To be honest, if I didn't have to include the wife into my decision process, I might would be looking a lot harder at moving further West.

I live in northern Ohio (Medina county) and the only real problem I have is the anti gun sentiment of A LOT of the leos. I live close to Officer Harless country- enough said.

I lived in Ohio for a large part of my life before moving south for work. Living in a large city might have a lot to do with your liberal society issue because I have seen a lot of the same in other big cities. Moving out to a more rural area is something to always look at, as well.

I moved from the Boston area to Columbus in 1987 after coming off of active duty. You wanna talk about cultural shift... I live outside of Centerburg in Knox county, and it's a 50 minute drive a world away from Columbus. EVERYBODY is armed here, I routinely shoot off of my back deck, as do most of my neighbors, and carrying openly in the grocery store isn't even blinked at.

I love Columbus, it's a great town. I love my Buckeyes, the Arena district, the concerts, and all of the theaters, not to mention a few trips to the opera with Mrs. Arquebus and the theater stage. I also love the hunting here in Ohio, the gun culture, and the local history, mild as it is. I've prospered here where others have had to go on food stamps back in Massachusetts. That said, I love leaving the town every evening to go live in my own private corn belt.

You sound like you need a change, which is good, but I don't necessarily think you need to leave the state, just leave town. Just an observation, good luck with whatever you decide. For what it's worth, Texas and Alaska are on my short list of other states to live in, what with my having similar sentiments as you do about politics and freedom.

Come on out to Nebraska. Good, hard working folks, very conservative and 2nd amendment rights are respected. You will hear the small town people talk about how bad Omaha is, but it isn't bad at all. I live in SW suburban Omaha.

I was born in Cleveland and had family there long ago.

I left Ohio after 52 years, moved to sunny Florida, the gun shine state and I love it. Very easy to CC almost everywhere.

NH is quite a conservative state, and neighboring VT has no law prohibiting CCW. I'm fom Cleveland, OH. I now live in Hartford, VT.
