Deal is all but done.
Well, the guy got back to me and he'll take $450 for his ATI.
"American Tactical (ATI) commander sized 1911. Has maybe 500-600 flawless rnds through it and it is still in excellent condition. Has Novak Sights. Comes with:
-1 8 rnd ACT Mag
-3 8 rnd Colt Mags (Stainless)
-1 Blackhawk Serpa Holster (configured as a paddle holster but will include attachment for belt configuration)
-1 Box (20 rnds) Hornady TAP CQ 230gr P JHPs
-Box & Papers
Grips are nice enough that I won't have to rush to replace them like I would have on the RIA, also it has the hammer/beaver tail grip safety that I like and also Novak sights so I'm good to go in that dept. Also has 3 Colt mags and a decent holster. All I'll still need to get is loading stuff(dies, primers, bullet mold, ect) and probably a 100 rounds of WWB to mess with until I can get some ammo loaded up.
As much as I'd have liked to get a 38 Super this will fit my budget a lot better AND I'm actually getting the Commander size gun that I wanted to get.
Funny how things work out for me sometimes, guess this was the gun I was suppose to get after all.

This will only be the second Commander size 45acp that I've ever owned. The other one was a Llama Max I or some such(can't really remember the name) and it was decent. At the same time I also had a Llama Mini-Max that was an Officer's size gun but double stack like a Para M12, it was also ok.
I am so stoked, finding this deal is going to save me quite a bit of money since I won't have to buy grips, mags or holster and it has some decent upgrades like sights you can actually see and Commander style hammer and nice grip safety.
Now I'll have a classic pair, S&W J-Frame 38 and a Commander size 45.

These are good for the money. My brother has one, works great, and the fit is surprisingly nice.

I guess the Philippians have been making 1911a1's for some time on Colt machinery. You almost have to go with one from there or one of the Turkish ones to get into a 1911a1 for under $500 anymore. I'm sure no more then I shoot this gun will last me a lifetime(or until I sell it in 3 months,LOL, couldn't resist that one. ) but really, I'm going to start getting stuff that I'm going to hang onto for a change.

Want to hear something kind of funny? The 1911 was 50 years old when I was born in 1961. I've not owned one in probably 13 years but this year I'm 50 years old and I'm getting back into a 1911. Crazy isn't it, how the numbers work out like that. It was 50 when I was born and now I'm 50 and getting one.

ATI (or SAM) is the best builder in the Philippines as far as I'm concerned.

Hey, if you add a "1" in front of those numbers you get 19/11, take out the "/" and you'd have 1911, spooky.

Ok, deal IS done, here's a pic of a nice pair................of guns.LOL.

Gun feels really solid, looks great, has all the features that I want and not of the ones that I don't like. I'll pick up a nice set of Double Diamond wooden grips for it later on and probably a few more mags, can never have too many mags. Anyway, I've not had two handguns together at the same time in quite a few years, feels kind of nice knowing that my wife and I can both be armed if need be.
