Already have the logistics of the situation covered, Unkle.
An old story from early in the 20th century: The parents of Jewish kids in the New York City public schools would ensure that soap made from NON-pigfat sources was available in all the schools. That way, the kosher rules would not be broken if a teacher had to wash a wise-guy Jewish kid's mouth out with soap!

Could you just hear the outcry if something like that happened NOW ???
First ones involved would probably be the EPA !

The Jewish experience in America has a few salient points:
- The Jewish immigrants were lucky enough to catch the big-city public schools at their peak of quality.
- The old-fashioned "learning-by-rote" method, now heavily discredited, did in fact have a lot going for it.
- We were lucky enough to be able to "organize" ourselves, rather than the current method of depending on outside sources to step in to "organize" us.
- In life, as in surgery, knowing what to cut away and what to leave can be trickey; it is entirely too easy to cut too deep.

And now, our war movie parody: On my mark, we will circumcise our watches.
What I originally had in mind with that surgery statement was a surgeon who has bought in too deeply with the temporary-cavity bullet wound doctrine, and therefore excises way too much decent-looking tissue. But, I must admit, your slant on interpretation is more in keeping with the salacious 10-Ring mentality (pardon my redundancy).

Did you know that San Francisco tried to ban circumcision recently? There go those open minded liberal fascists, making something else illegal.
I can't find it on youtube, but does anybody remember that parody of a car ad where a jeweler cut a diamond while being driven on a rough road. In the parody, a rabbi circumsized and infant under the same conditions.
A CLASSIC!!

Saturday Night Live, from the 70's. Garrett Morris played the driver, Gilda Radner played the anxious mom at the end of the commercial. The car was the Royal Deluxe II.

Augh, thank goodness there is some sort of validation.
But, do you remember the De-caffeinators skit from "Not Necessarily the News?"
..... Come to think of it, does anyone remember HBOs "Not Necessarily the News?"

The commies infested the education system and the news media. Your dad was probably right.
