147 Grain Load Advice.

Just sized a few thousand 9mm cases with the Lee thigh master. I realize google turns up a lot of results on this subject, but you guys are smart cookies.

I'm looking to reload 147 grain lead or plated projectiles. Not sure what powder to go with. Loads ranging from bunny farts to moderate? Will be using these for steel matches.

WST is my recommended powder 3.5 -4.0 range will get you there with 147g.

Chrono to about 940 with a 5 inch barrel.

I'm a new reloader, but will throw out my load for JACKETED 147s, just FYI.

Montana Gold 147 CMJ
3.6gr VV N320
Federal SP
OAL 1.131"
Currently using Starline brass
Chronos at ~905fps from a G17
Accurate out to 35yds - perhaps beyond
I use it for IDPA, Steel, and GSSF

I agree with what Hozer said above and the only thing that I would add is that, if at all possible, bypass the bare lead bullets and go straight to the plated (or better yet, jacketed; though you may need to bump the charge a couple decimals of a grain to make PF with FMJ/JHP bullets).
