I've had a bob-tailed 1911 before and I do like it. Will get it cleaned
up, reassembled & hope to hit the range today.
Thanks for the compliments, it's reallt NOT that hard to do.
It's just a wee bit nerve racking!

Looking great! Now I wouldn't go refinishing or coating that thing anytime soon because as soon as you do you'll change it!

The hump on the main spring housing feel good? It looks kinda sharp, like it would dig the hand, or make more for printing.
The arc across the back of it looks a bit odd to me, but the blending is real nice! If it feels good in your hand, then it's lookin sharp.
That an H&K?

The part that would print is gone. How could a bobtail print more?
The whole reason for bobtailing a 1911 is to make it more concealable.

This,........thanks Randy.
Just to add,.....it's not as sharp as it looks, and it contacts the palm
of the hand at the crease of the heel. Very comfortable, very concealable.

Thanks I have been working out!
The "round butt" job was something I wanted to try. And I knew if I
screwed that up, I could do the bobtail. I am happy with the end result.

Such a party pooper,........
10-8 sight on. Wilson slide stop installed, blending of MHS complete.
Chatted with Joe Chambers about the front strap treatment.
After that it's off to Lou at Business End Customs for graphite black Cerakote

Decided to leave the FCS,.......fitted a thick EGW bushing & plug today.
I did not fit it "Baer tight" but darn near. 10x better fit than the Springer bushing!

The end of the Springer Loaded project is at hand.
Made plans to send it to Joe Chambers to get a bit of work done
& a matte blued refinish.

Too bad, once it's done you'll be bored of it.
At least that's the way it is with my projects, once they're done I loose interest. I tell my wife that since I kept her for all these years I have to trade/sell the guns when I'm bored.

That's funny I was kind of building mine for a future son-in-law but alas it didn't work out. Safe queen but I may move it out to fund something else. Can't wait to see what Chambers does to that thing, it will be awesome.

Honestly, just a few mild tweaks, front strap treatment, msh
treatment & a matte blue finish.

I've always been interested in a Government sized slide and a bobbed frame. I have a bobbed Commander and love the feel, but all of my full sized 1911s have a regular MSH.
