New tnoutdoors9 video: .45 ACP 230gr HST
Awesome. .89" expansion and 13.75" penetration.
This is what I carry.

I certainly don't have any doubts about .45ACP or the HST ammo.
The caliber has been putting down the enemy for over 100 years (as well as the venerable 9mm) and I expect it will still be putting away the enemy in 2112 as well.
Thanks for the link. It reminds me why I don't need another caliber to feed but if I ever hanker for the .45ACP it will be a full-size 1911 handgun.

Great video.
I always like to have some 230 HST on hand.

No doubt it is good, but you should also see the Ranger T version--very impressive.

I really like the HST bullet design. They have their SD rounds, no matter what caliber, dialed in.

Awesome round. Its hard to beat a good 45ACP 230gr +P JHP for self defense. Great big hole, real deep. If you can shoot straight you don't need huge capacity. I use Win Ranger T +P 230 gr in my 1911's.

Now if he would go old school and try some Federal 357 mag 125 or the Rem version I'd be thrilled. 9BPLE did alot better than most folks would give it credit for.

9mm guns hold more rds for one reason because you need them.
45 generally hold less because you only need one!
I just had to say that.

http://www.stoppingpower.net/forum/ has test results on the three aforementioned rounds with real calibrated gel/4 layer denim.
Personally, I don't trust this SIM Test Media after seeing the Winchester T Series fail miserably in it, yet it absolutely 'shines' in gel/denim test and on the street.

Yeah I have issue with the whole denim nonsense but understand why everyone does it, I was surprised to see the 127 fail like it did. His 9BPLE test surprised me as well, although the bonded is best crowd will cringe it performed very well. Those 2 are my carry rounds.

I've seen other failures of the 127+P+ Ranger-Ts somewhere but I don't recall where. I'll look sometime. The thing about tnoutdoors9 failure of that was the WAY it failed. That one petal just chipping off like that. I'm caulking it up to randomness or maybe a bad lot but geez. Sim-Test is still jello, it ain't concrete.
