Hey guys!
I would just like to say hello to the GT board members and give a brief intro.
I'm 42, live in South Florida, USA. Got the wife, kids, the whole nine yards. 
Although I've grown up with firearms in my parents' house and shot some stuff every now and then, it's only been recently when I started getting a bit serious about home defense / CC, etc.
Looking at my 4 year old daughter and imagining her growing up without me or her mother (or both) because of a home invasion or car jacking scenario absolutely keeps me up nights and gets me downright pissed off that there are people who could do such a thing. Oh well, that's the world we live in.
I am the proud owner of a G27. Got around 500 rounds through it so far and basically consider myself a brand new shooter eager for learning and second-nature weapon proficiency.
A note to the service men and women on the boards: Thank you very much for your sacrifice, patriotism and commitment to justice. If we were hanging out at a bar, I would shake your hand with gratitude and buy you a round of your favorite alcoholic beverage.

I have a son named Matthew, but he's at the other end of his 40's.
I assume So. Florida means East Coast?

Did you get the gen3 or gen4 version?
I just got a Glock 27 gen4 a little over a month ago, and love it!

Yes sir, you would be correct: East Coast. The family resides upon a plot of land in Miramar, more towards the Western-boundary of Broward county, closer to where the Everglades begins. Haven't seen a croc in the backyard yet, but there's a gun range two minutes away from the house! 
And may I be so bold in saying that your choice of your son's name was an excellent one.

Udoggie, hey there. Good to meet ya.
I've got a gen4. And then, after firing the first hundred rounds through it, I took my slightly-raw shooting hand (palm, to be more accurate) and got a Talon grip. Aaaaaahhh....
I think I've read it here on the forums the 27 is like a little bulldog. With a good solid grip, muzzle flip and felt recoil are quite manageable.
