PDF files within threads?

is it possible to attach a PDF file (or for that matter, a MS word or powerpoint document) to a thread?

When you post a response to a thread, underneath the message box are several other boxes. One of these is the "Attach Files" box, and it says "Valid file extensions: bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg pdf png psd txt zip", so I assume you could attach any file that uses one of these extensions.

Barring that, you could host the file on another site and link to it from your post or thread.

Not that I know of, but I have never tried to upload a .PDF before.

Well, I just tried it, and it accepted a 1.57 Mb .PDF without difficulty, so I don't think there is a 1 Mb limit at the upload window.

I'll ask one of the Admin folks about it, but in the meantime, try a few different PDFs of different sizes, and see if you can get ANY of them to work.

didnt work for the 1.8 Mb or 1.2 Mb. works for PDF files smaller than 1.0 Mb in size. tried 2 different computers and both same results.

It might be a tiered thing, linked to membership levels; I'll check with Eric.

Thanks for pointing it out!

Perhaps the .PDF file has a needed attachments, or there is content embedded in it that is not counted in the file size. The limit is still set to 2mb. I'd take a closer look at the file.
