Got the Auto Primer Feed kit in today. Opened the box right before I left for work. The critical piece is made of steel, with a special little sexy looking spring, so I don't see that being something easy to reproduce. It also included a bolt, washer and 2 primer pickup tubes (one large, one small), but they are considerably shorter than my RCBS or other Hornady tubes. I assume they only hold 100 primers. I don't know how many the longer tubes hold, as I've never loaded more than 100 at a time in em.
I don't have my Hornady single stage press yet, so I won't be able to try it out for a coupla weeks.

I went down with a couple of hundred in my pocket to pick up some miscellaneous reloading supply's. I must say I was quite disappointed with this new Cabellas. It prices were higher than the local store already here and selection on reloading supplies was less. Its pretty bad when a national chain isn't competitive with a mom and pop store.

About 9 or so months ago, I went into the local Gander Mountain for the first time. They were starting to do a remodel to prepare for the new Cabella's that was gonna be built. They have decided to stop carrying reloading supplies. I can't say it matters much, if the prices of their guns and ammo is indicative of their previous reloading items, I say good riddance.
Last night I went into the new Cabella's for the first time, and was pretty impressed by their reloading selections. Not as big as Bass Pro in KC, but it's not Bass Pro and we aren't in KC. Their prices were higher than, say, midway and graf's, but it wasn't the butt-rape one would get from the local gun store, specifically the Bullet Stop.
Bullet Stop has finally started carrying Hornady loading products. The price of their LNL AP kit is $550!!!!! Hell, even their 3 die Lee pistol sets are nearly $60. I've expressed more than once that while I understand everyone has to make a profit, that was just outrageous, and until they got some reasonable pricing, I would buy elsewhere. I was told good luck!
I've since found another place in town, Finley's Hobbies. They buy from Graf's, and charge me the same price as if I ordered direct from Graf's. If I am willing to wait, I don't pay shipping, as my order will arrive on the stock truck, which delivers every 2 weeks. That's good business, and I will continue to buy there, and send all the business I can to em.

I was surprised to see powders that I used being 3 to 4 dollars more a pound at Cabellas than at the local mom and pop gun shop. Their reloading selection was on par size wise with one local store and less than the other local and smaller than Wholesale sports.
They did have a lot of ammo in stock.

Cabela's reloading section at the new store was just as I expected. They have never been know to be the most cost savings of stores. However their reloading selection is pretty decent, particularly for the boutique rifle bullets.
One thing that is going to be nice is having the store so close for will call of online sales... they on occasion have unbelievable online sales and with the free delivery to stores for pickup, even paying the WA state sales tax may still keep you ahead.
I don't mind paying a little extra retail price and in sales tax once in a while to keep jobs in the area.

I'm sure they sell a few each year. Some folks walk into an LGS and pay $600 (or more) for a G17.

Ditto, and it will be nice to have a store that I want to go to near the outlets...

Congrats on the score. I load all my larger rifle calibers with single stage press (Lee Classic cast).

One a side note, my 500 free bullets from Hornady showed up today. Not bad only 2 and a half weeks.

How do you like the press? Do you prime on it? I like Lee's priming system but I don't know if I would prime on the press with a single stage.

I like it... the frame itself is solid and the ram is tight. Plenty of leverage, which will be good for .308 later down the line.
I'm not priming on it, using a hand primer that came with the kit. I only load 50 rounds of precision .223 at a time so no biggie, takes me 5-6 minutes to hand prime.
I may get the auto primer later down the line but will wait till one of the Hornady retailers actually has it in stock rather than buying direct at almost twice the price with shipping.
A buddy of mine bought some crappy gun show.308 reloads that are clearly out of spec and has offered to buy me a collet puller to yank the bullets and resize the brass to load again so we'll see how it does doing that.
