Awesome work guys!!!!!!!!!!!

I deadlifted 405lbs a few minutes ago. Unfortunately I ramped it the slightest little bit up the thighs. Probably would've gotten red lights in the USAPL, but I'm happy because my back felt good getting a long awaited PR.

BCR, it's July 14th near Houston, TX. It's USAPL.

I pulled 545 last week after my work sets, and squated 405 for a couple singles yesterday. weighed in at 189, so im pretty pumped about it! halfway through an 8 week rotation now, so hopefully the gains continue though the next month.

I've been training for a half marathon in September and ran a "baseline" 12.5 mile run on Wednesday. I ran it in 1:49:09, If I can get quicker than 1:45 for the half marathon I think I'd be satisfied. I've got 2 1/2 months left to train. I just started working a short hill into my training.

I watched part of the Coeur d'Alene Ironman Triathalon last weekend and WOW! I've never seen one in person before, but those people are all of that and a bag of chips! Genuine world class athletes, and not just the professionals, I mean all of them!

Getting strong Blake!

Good luck on the run SDDL.

Oh yeah, while I am at it, I had a minor, unimportant, PR last weekend. I took about a minute and a half off of my one lap around the lake bike time.

I have lost strength numbers after breaking my arm and my Crossfit gym turning into a lame ass bootcamp gym where there is very little strength work. In fact the owner kicked out the most capable and strongest member for calling the lameness into question. I finished out the month and will no longer go.

I will begin strength work again in the aforementioned guys garage starting next week.

I don't shoot much for PR anymore as I don't get much for spotting on BP and currently not doing DLs in routine...which sucks because it's my best lift.
Still, last PR was about 3mos ago, 335 on BP, still hover around 405 SQ and 455 DL.
It seems like I crank things up more in the fall and winter as I split with bicycling during the nicer months.

I am still riding a cheap ten year old Giant MB.

I bought a new frame and had wheels built but have not ordered any other parts. I will try to get that done this week. An LBS will build for me.

The frame is a Handsome XOXO.

Not sure. I guess it is a little over ten miles. Doing it in thirty five minutes. Not fast, but I am getting better.

I ride to the lake and home again. Whole thing takes. 50-55 minutes.

I squatted 325 today. It's only a 5lbs PR, but it counts and my back felt fine doing it.

Thanks California Jack!

I've gotten into decent shape so far, now I need to work on my SPEED.

A minute and a half off your bike time is a significant improvement!

For myself at least, I'll hit a plateau and stay there for maybe a few weeks, then a breathrough where I'll knock off some significant time, then plateau again. I really don't have week to week improvements as far as times are concerned.

As ready as I'm going to get. I have 1 more workout later this week, then I do a real lightweight de-load lift a couple of times this week and stretch some, then do my best next Saturday.

The game plan is to go even lighter than expected due to some issues, to insure that I get at least 1 good lift each round and don't bomb out.

I'll squat 300, 325, and then ........ 340/345/350... ? ..... I'm not sure yet. It'll depend on how I feel whether I try for a 25lbs jump.

I was going to start benching at 220, 230 then 240. But I struggled with 220 for some reason this week and failed multiple times at 230. Just a couple of weeks ago 230 was flying up. So I'll open at either 210 or 215, then 225 and maybe 240. Again I'll have to feel it out. I've been working with my brother-in-law having him give me hand offs for the bench. It's the first time I've ever done that, but it's going well. I'm also having him make me pause long and then give the press command. It's amazing how much longer it seems when I'm not the one deciding when to press.

And for the deadlift I was planning on opening at 375, 405, and then maybe 425 or 430. But as pointed out by a meet official I had a slight "ramping" problem that starts out at 395. The bar keeps moving fast and I can't see or feel how I'm getting any assistance from it because of how slight it is, but I was told it would get me red lights. So I'm thinking 375 is what I can hit easily with absolutely no chance of getting red-lit, 395 is about 50/50. Earlier this week I rushed my setup, got sloppy, jerked off the floor, and ramped 395. Then a couple of minutes later I took my time, squeezed slowly, and it went up well. So if I hit 395, then it's on to 415 or so.

The final test will be this Saturday when I do a mock-meet in my garage. I'm going to see how I do trying all 3 lifts in 1 day, which I've never done before. I want to make sure that I can hit all of my openers 100% under those circumstances. I'm going to make sure I can pause 210 even longer than I'd need in competition and see if I can pull 395 smoothly after squatting and benching.

If I can hit my openers for sure, that will be an 885 total. If I manage 2 good lifts I should have around a 940-950. And if I somehow manage a 9/9 I'll somewhere around 1,000.

Yes I know, I've over thought this entirely too much.

Sounds like a good plan SOI.

You aren't overthinking it at all.

I've always heard the biggest issue with a meet is doing all 3 lifts in one day.

Also been told by numerous people that your openers should be about the same as your 5RM for each lift.

Just got over cancer, finished radiation treatments on June 20th.

Ran 2 miles yesterday without stopping, at a moderate pace. No where near what I used to be able to do, but I'm proud of it all things considered.

BTW two years ago, I was running 16:30's 5k, got a long way to go to get back to that.
