How do I find out what generation it is ?

I would say if you post a photo of your Glock someone will chime in! This is a Gen 3.

It cannot be a Gen1, as Glock did not make .40 caliber guns until after the Gen1 was discontinued.

SLAMBERT, how do you like those adjustable Meprolight night-sights? I've been considering getting a set, but first I wanted to find at least a couple of folks who have been using them, to see what they thought of them.

They work well for me on my G35. They are sharp and precise (target sights) which fits their main intent for me, while having the low light capability for "back up."
They aren't as fast to acquire as some other options, but if you are looking for target sights with low light capability, they are nice.
Be aware, they are effing big... The front sight stands quite high- like a suppressor sight, and the rear hangs off the back of the slide a little. Also, the front sight hangs into the big oval port a little bit. My barrel isn't ported, so it's not a big deal to me, but looks kind of cheesy.
Elegant/streamlined, they ain't, but they were the best "multipurpose" option I could find several years ago.
All my "combat accurate" Glocks carry fixed sights of various types.

Nite sight's
I LOVE them! They fit the 23 just fine. They are big, very bright, that's why I LOVE them, great acquisition at night with both eye's open, and great target sight too! No problem drawing from a holster, because it is never in one. We have night time critters that don't tho, 3 out of 5 yote's (running) so far.... no more free chicken dinner's... Oh my 2 brother's have them on there 23's too, I got to try them out first hand.
