Target shooting

I have a g17 gen 3 with stock sights. I plan on changing them. I was thinking of going with a Dawson Precision front fiber optic and switching the rear sight to a Glock adjustable. Or maybe keep the fixed rear and see how it shoots. Does anyone think this is good plan?

Go for it. Dawson specifically make FO fronts for use with the stock fixed or adjustable rear.

You mention (generic) target shooting, realize that the fiber optic front may be helpful for rapid fire, not so much for slow fire target pratice, where black on black would work just as well.
