As soon as my parts come in I will let you know - I was thinking the same thing and ordered a new plunger, spring, and bearing from LWD... should be in today or tomorrow

So how long is the wait on a replacement extractor. My gen 4 model 27 has some erratic ejection but I have just lived with it, other than a few casings to the forehead my 27 has been 100% reliable. No ftf's or fte's. I called glock and told them my situation and was told they would ship me the replacement part to an armorer no charge.

Just wait.

The Apex extractor package is just about to be released and it will fix the problems that Glock refuses to fix.

FYI, glockparts.com has new extractors from Glock that are non-dip. Not the old non-LCI extractors but new LCI extractors that are non-dip.

I have no clue if these are an improved extractor, but someone on a couple other forums put one of these on a G19 with erratic ejection and it fixed his problem. I don't know if it was a gen 3 or gen 4 gun nor do I know if he put the 30274 ejector on it.

I have 2 on order to put on my late Gen 3 longslides. For now I'm running the modified dip extractor on my G34 and have a stock dip extractor on my 17L. Both guns have the 30274.

If the new extractor works I'll post here.

My Gen4 G19 Threw Cheap range ammo on my right arm and threw NATO spec over my head and wayy to the right.

I polished my extractor (top&bottom) and now it likes cheap range ammo and likes NATO spec even better!

These guys really provided a great bit of info for us, thanks!

Edit: Yeah, after about 500 rounds....not so much better

Wierd, I had the same experiance. I've also read where these dip extractors either worked out of the box then started acting up after a few thousand rounds then others have had issues until they got a few thousand rounds and then started ejecting well.

Looking forward to trying the new non-dip extractors I got in this week.

One thing I take away from all of this: Glock's customer service and way of fixing problems is absolutely terrible.

Some around here love to bash on Kimber for their ratty customer service....well..I don't know how Glock has been any better. At least Kimber DID do away with (entirely) their awful external extractors and replaced people's slides that wee having problems, with internal extractors that actually worked.

The way Glock went about "solving" this problem (...which put a huge dent in their stellar reputation, BTW) was p*ss poor. If you ask me...they STILL have not solved it.

Equally as poor was the "full retard" reactions from some, to the beta testers for Apex's fix for this problem. But that is grist for another post.

Looks as if I will have to apply some of the 9mm-style top/bottom extractor polishing to my new G30sf. It worked wonders on my G26.

Today I tried out some Speer Gold Dot, WWB & a few Buffalo Bore +P FMJ-FN (all 230 gr) in the G30sf. The Gold Dot & BB ejected well to my right. Hydra-Shok did the same the last time I tried some (although did not eject as far away). Winchester Ranger T series (not +p) has ejected farther away than any other ammo I have shot in the gun.

but the WWB was all over the place... left, right & straight back. Last time I shot the 30sf with WWB, one hopped behind my glass frames & burned the pee out of my eyelid (I know, I should wear a cap).

I too thought that maybe cheapo Wal Mart 9mm (Federal Champion and WWB) were the culprits in my 3rd gen G19.

However, I got brass to the face with other ammo, too like Hornady defensive loads.

I also used this same Wal Mart ammo in my 1994 made 2nd gen G17 and the stuff all ejects just fine in a neat little pile beside me. It is a ratty looking old police trade in gun with hardly any finish on the slide and a fairly worn smooth frame....not some safe queen

For some...ammo might be to blame but I am pretty sure ammo is not to blame or my old G17 would be tossing that stuff everywhere...but it does not.

I have never worried too much about where the brass lands. In the face is not good, of course. As I reported in an earlier post, a friend's Gen2 G17 kept hitting his face until Glock tweaked it for him... so it's not a new problem - & today's performance with my G30sf shows it's not just a 9mm thing.

I am fairly content if all the ammo gets out with no jams. Such erratic ejection sure makes me wonder what is going on, though.

When we are talking 1000ths of an inch between working 100% and having erratic ejection, I'd just say be careful. A little will probably go a long way in terms of getting where you want it to be.
So this guy is stating that through basic wear and tear and getting rounds through your glock, this will basically cause the extractor to polish itself correct???

Just wondering because this whole polishing process seems a little too tedious for me at this point. Yet brass to the face is no damn fun at all.

I called them and they hand picked it for me, sorry about that. I'm sure if you call them they'll swap it out for you if they still have stock. When I talked to him he said his latest bacth was non-dip. Maybe they sold out. I heard Brownells had the non dip but a poster on another site said he also received a dip extractor. Because of that I added a couple to an existing Brownells order, if they are dip (they'll be in today" I'll just return them.

Try that new/dipped extractor, it might be the fix. I fixed a couple of gen4's with stock LCI (dipped) extractors from glockparts.com

Just emailed Dave at Glockparts and he said all he has was non dipped. I think you should give him a call.

I will give the new dipped '3' extractor a try tomorrow during lunch. If it doesn't help I will get in contact with them and order another and see if they can verify non-dip for me.

I also ordered gen4 housing from them so I could yank the updated ejector. I will test various combinations including with my old '2' extractor that I worked over (helped a tad, but still pelts me in the head every now and then...)

Put the old 336 ejectors back in my G34 and G17L and tried them with the non dip extractors. Ejection was the same as with the 30274 ejector so that's some improvement. I tried a dipped extractor and got the same sprinkler head ejection. So the non dipped are better than the dipped. That said, the extractors look very rough. Lots of machine marks. The two dipped extractors I sent back to Brownells looked even worse and one didn't even fit! Whoever is doing QA on these extractors need to get fired because they are crap.

At least for now I'm not getting brass to the face, have stock guns but I'm definitely going to look at the Apex part. If I thought anyone at Glock cared I'd write them about the poor quality I'm seeing in their spare parts but all they have to do is do a web search. I have bought my last gun from this company, at least until I read they have fired some people and do a major overhaul of their quality control dept. And that will probably happen right after pigs take up flying.

With the newer '3' dip extractor it made no real diff vs the original modified '2' dip extractor. The 30274 ejector did seem to help a little for me though. Instead of 5/6 o'clock ejection I was getting 4-5 o'clock ejections with the occasional 9 on the last round of the mag (I tried swapping mags as well). Nothing to the head at least, only occasionally to the shoulder...

I am going back in the morning with 3 different 17's, 2 of which I don't have any problems with. An older MBD prefix that has a non dip lci extractor, and a newer SVS prefix with a dip lci extractor.

The one in question that is giving me grief is a RCV prefix...

I will try swapping extractors, edp assembly, ejectors, rsa and see what works...

Tried the G4 19 again today. About one round per mag into my noggin. Springs, ejector, extractor, whatever, little to no difference.
