I don't remember where but I saw a review of this stuff and it performed like a fmj and never did the things they claimed. Maybe this is a newer/different design because I don't remember the bullet weights being that light.

I'm pretty sceptical though

I understand that this may be the first frangable ammo to actually work in soft targets, at least in certain rifle rounds. I know they have a lot of patents and to have survived, someone is buying it. Still may be too experimental to trust your life on.

If someone wants to use these, that is their choice. I prefer a JHP, middle weight to heavy for caliber, depending on the cartridge.

To each his own, but this stuff is not for me.

I'd bet you're thinking of another co. Probably these guys:

http://www.rbcd.net/

DRT hooked up with Corbon last year and with Corbon's great R&D I'd like to think they really researched this one well.

I'm used to DRT meaning something else.

Saw the same ad.

There is no way in the world I'd ever want that box of ammunition to be presented in a court proceeding. Not with the picture on the packaging. Gimme a break.

Then there's the play on the acronym "DRT". A coincidence, right? Really?

What part of the market demographics for ammunition sales are they marketing to, using that packaging, anyway?

I'm not following the DRT reference here. What did you think it stood for?

I didn't notice the packaging until you pointed it out. It almost looks like "gimmick" marketing, like the Hornady Zombiemax.

Funny, this ammo is being sold by a police supply company. What people won't do to try and make a buck...

A pretty good write up on frangible ammo for duty use.

Or coincidence. Publicly they would say it was one.

Seems to me the Rbcd stuff was never designed as a frang ammo even though it did on soft tissue or targets. If I remember correctly this ammo was almost like AP ammo on hard targets like bullet resistant glass and doors but would come apart on sheetrock or tissue.

I want to say there was like an hour long youtube video done years ago by a 3rd party company that ran it on all sorts of armor and it was pretty impressive on what it could do but never showed testing on like gel, only clay.

Sounds like a viable option for home defense in urban or suburban scenerios, if we want to keep penetration and ricochet to a minimum.

I dont know how it would perform on tissue though.
