So my dealer had given me a free pound of the Hodgdon CFE 223 when it first came out. My truck is in the body shop so I worked up a few loads yesterday with it for my new Sig 556. Going to shoot them tomorrow at the range, but was just curious if any of the guys around here have tried it at all. I noticed it was similar to BL-C2 which I usually use on my .223. So just curious about it, any feed back would be appreciated if so and I will let you know how they shoot tomorrow
I bought a # to try, seems to give good accuracy in both my 1-7 & 1-8 rifles w/ 55gr & 69gr, burns clean too. I would certainly buy an 8# next time around.

Well the good news is the CFE 223 loads I shot out of my Ruger SR 556E were tack drivers and on point, but my Sig 556 did not like them so I will have to work up a different load tailored to the Sig. The bad news is I had a slam fire on my Ruger that scared the **** out of me, burnt my face a little and damaged my upper receiver. So yeah a good powder, and a lesson learned
