Arredondo +5 Mag Extension for G22
Hey all, I've seen a few threads on these Arredondo mag extensions but not anything discussed in great detail as far as this particular kit goes.. I knew very little about Glock mag extensions going into this but recently noticed a great deal of other shooters at local ACTS shoots as well as professionals instructors utilizing the "little black box" extension. I ordered my setup off of Amazon for use in my police trade-in Glock 22 that I carry every single day as a CCW in a Raven Concealment "wannabe" holster which I picked up from a gentleman here on GT (A GREAT PURCHASE by the way, UNBELIEVABLE quality, GREAT customer service, and 4 days from order to delivery...). Here's his link, http://glocktalk.com/classifieds/sho...essories&cat=8. Seriously, check that guy out if you want an oustanding holster, EXACTLY like RC for half the price.. Anyway, the mag extension could not have been easier to install and truly, as stated in the description, added FIVE (that's right) FIVE rounds of .40 S&W to my Glock! The hardest part of it all was removing the stock base plate from my factory mag, however, (contrary to everything I've read so far) the EASIEST way to remove that damn thing was to simply push in the spring retaining pin with a punch and I used the flat head screwdriver on my multi-tool as a wedge to slide under the baseplate in order to push it forward and slide it off. After that, the rest of the installation was a piece of cake! Long story short, for $37 and a few minutes of my time, I added 5 rounds of KILL to my personal defense weapon (which now holds 20+1 rds.). I'll be putting 250rds. of FMJ through that one magazine tomorrow and will post an update on the performance of the new addition. Thanks for reading.

Here's what the extension looks like on my blaster.

I've used them on my Glock 35 in Limited for a few years, they work flawlessly through thousands of rounds....; well worth the $37 or so....
(I only load the first one to a true 20 rounds, as the mags seat much easier on slide forward/speed reloads when loaded to 19+1; improperly seated mags falling out of the pistol at the first shot after a reload will quickly teach that lesson! Embarassing, but, educational!)

They are great, especially for quick disassembly for cleaning.
I have found however, that the magsprings that come with these relax quite a bit over time, much more so than the stock mag springs. Keep some spares handy.

I also have used them in competition for several years and found them to be of excellent design. I like that they are made of polymer like the magazines themselves and will not gouge the magazines when installing and removing for cleaning.

Just my opinion, but if you can't get it done with 16 rounds, you seriously should invest in some shooting classes and not mag extensions.

May I assume then, that you don't use aftermarket sights, spare loaded mags, a backup gun or any accessories except for a holster, whatsoever?
Because we should all be able to "get it done" without all of those in a strict sense, shouldn't we? Hopefully Gaston will finally see the light and switch all the models to a single stack design, and finally lets go of this useless fat gripped, double stacked madness that serves no purpose whatsoever.
By the way, Clinton AWB magazines absolutely rock!!.....

I use the extensions primarily for competition. More rounds in Limited class USPSA competition is an advantage. In a CCW weapon it's obviously way too bulky but still you would never be outgunned!

umm i would suggest you reevaluate your philosophies in this with things like pcp tranqs steroids etc it is not an inconceivable possibility to have mulitiple people who are high enough for pepper spray not to have any effect (yes i have leo and military buddies who have had this happen) not only that but what would you do if animals from lion country safari or the zoo get loose http://www.americanhandgunner.com/li...0%94-for-real/
"Terry Thompson, age 61, owns a ranch he has populated with some 56 exotic wild animals. They include six black bears, two big grizzlies, three mountain lions and two wolves. But his collection goes beyond indigenous American animals. The cramped cages in his zoo compound also contain assorted primates and, more ominously, 17 African lions and 18 Bengal tigers. None of them are tame. And he’s just opened the cages and released them all."
how would you handle say a grizzly bear when your walking to your car
of course this is extreme but the point stands the more ammo you have the more options you have especially when you consider cover, movement, injuries you might have, drugs and **** i just cant even think of if you think you have enough ammo great but i have never talked to any one who has lived through a gunfight who has said that they wished they hadn't brought so much ammo

Wow you must of been involved in a lot of shootings/shootouts to spread such a wealth of information with us glocktalk folks. Enlighten us please how can police shoot 55 rds at people in shootouts and barely even graze them? But 16 rds is too much for us ccwers with even less street experience?

personally, i use these (and they work great) just for uspsa competitions when i shoot Limited division. sometimes the extra couple of rounds will save a mag change and that time can make or break a run.
