Need help ASAP! NIB Colt Delta Elite 10mm - buy?

Got a line on this. Asking $1k; Supposedly brand new, unfired. Tell me about it? Worth it. I'm really thinking about buying it and keeping it new/unfired. I've included a shot of the box w/ serial #, if you can let me know the year of the gun.

This is what I know:

Hello sorry it took so long but that colt delta elite is ready to w sold now. It's in new condition with box and everything it came with. I think we have the original sales receipt too. I think he is asking 1,000$ I don't think he'd go to much lower but send an offer and if it's a good one then we can meet for a showing of the gun.

I cant help you with the year, but 1k seems like a fair price for a NIB delta. Its not a steal by any means but If you want it the price you paid wont matter a couple years down the road.

Nice Pistol. If its truly unfired it is probably worth near that. Ive shot one before and really liked it. If you really want it and can afford it get it!

By the serial number, that one is an early nineties model.
Some believe they were much better than the recent models.

Price is right, if condition is truly nib and unfired.

I thought that serial # would put it in the 80's? Thanks. I've offered $800 based on some research. I think $1k is towards the high end. If I wanted to sell it down the road I think i'd sit on it for a while just to break even. If he takes my offer that would be awesome, but we will see.

Yeah, I would go around $900.00 but I would definitely shoot it. They don't make the blued ones anymore but they're really not collectors items.

A brand new Delta Elite is MSRP at barely above $1000. That means you can negotiate the price down to probably $950 or so.

I'm sorry but there is no way in hell a Colt of 1980s vintage is better made than the current Colts.

He wasn't interested in $800 and said maybe $900. I don't need it that bad, so I told him I stand at $800. If it doesn't sell let me know.

He also just posted a NIB Colt Python 6" Stainless with rubber grips for $2,900. Looks like he has a bunch of never shot stuff.

This dude is one of those who somehow thinks that his guns are magically expensive because they're "Colts".

A NIB 6" SS Python ain't no $2900. Maybe $2000 at most depends on when it was made, especially one with the rubber Pachmayr grip.

For $900 I am certain you can buy a brand new current production Delta Elite. I'd take anything that Colt makes right now over anything that Colt made between 1980 and 2000.

Agreed. Also the older deltas had a reputation for frame cracks. I dont know how many actualy cracked vs internet lore but its something to think about.

Yep. I agree. If I can grab it at $800 cool. It would be need to have one of the original blued Deltas new in box.

I'm hoping he realizes these are just going to sit around a while and not sell quickly. Hopefully he changes his mind and takes my offer.

The frame crack is just over the hole of the slide release lever. Later Delta Elites had the top part cutted out.
