No. That is what the U.S. Army wanted in thier M-16's and M4's nearly 20 years ago. I do not need to read Surf's re-summarization of "the chart" to acknowledge that wear and corrosion resistance has evolved way past chrome lining rifle barrels and MPI testing just exposes flaws in metal caused by the HPT.

An EA lower fits your upper better than a Colt. That proves nothing.
Your upper may be out os spec. DPMS,...........not in this lifetime.

What does lower to upper fit have to do w/ quality anyway? That's some sales pitch by companies trying to lure potential customers away from the lack of important features.

Bought my P415 about 3 years ago, and over 5000 rounds later shes still running like a top.
The 62gr rounds (PMC XTAC) seem to be a bit more accurate at distance than the average 55gr variety.
Id love one of their 308's next.

Oh, good, one of these threads.
I'd be perfectly comfortable with Noveske, LaRue, Daniel Defense, BCM, Colt, LWRC, or LMT.

I am surprised no one has mentioned the Smith & Wesson M&P 15T. You can get it in either gas piston, or Direct Impingement. The local LEO trainer that trains LEO from all over recommends the 15T after seeing DPMS & Rock River crack & fail during training. Best bang for your buck. Sure, I'd like to have a Knight's Armament, LMT, etc, but I have other guns I want to buy.

Doesn't sound like he's comparing it to much. Did he tell you why he considered it the best value?

I like Larue scope mounts and hand guards, Noveske for barrels, pws and sure fire for brakes, magpul stocks, blue force slings, Troy BUIS and Gisselle triggers.

I have been highly impressed with my S&W. The trigger is nice and I opted for the nicer barrel (not the 1 in 9). It came in at about 1000. I tried the colt and the s&w before buying since both were with in 100.00 The S&W felt better and was more accurate for me.

Noveske, BCM, LaRue, LMT, Colt, Daniel Defense, LWCR.
For stripped lowers I don't care as long as it is to spec.

I think it depends on the application to some degree, but there are a lot of good choices on the market.
There are also some not so good choices on the market.
My personal favorites and current wishlist companies include Noveske, Larue, BCM, DD, Rainier Arms (I know they just assemble them, don't care), Centurion, HCS, LMT, Colt.
I am rooting for the companies like LWRC that are acting as innovators for the AR15. I think the platform can be made better.

When I went looking to buy my AR15 my list looked something like this:
Colt, BCM, Daniel Defense, Noveske, Larue, LMT

I have one as well and agree with the above. While it may not be a Colt or a BCM or DD it is still a very nice rifle for the cost and what i use it for which is home defense and killing paper. It eats steel cased Herters ammo without fail and with the cheap Bushnell TRS red dot sight at 50 yards its dead on and it will make decent groups at 100 yards and thats really all I ever see myself doing with it.

Support small business and LEO's... I'm not who some of you think.
ETA: Just send any questions to our contact email. We are closed Sundays, so that's your best bet. Guarantee it is in stock, I put it in this safe earlier. First contact gets it. I DO NOT have any control over who gets it. I am part time. Our Sales Manager is named Dan. Again just say Clint sent you the link. We have a great store, LEO owned.

The best was when I had my LWRC at the range and the guy next to me was wondering why I didn't go with a good name brand AR like a Colt...
