Well we surrvived the storm and the rain, the good lord blessed us again to spare our homes thru the rage of yet another devastating storm!
Tons of limbs and debris down, but blessed not to have had a tree hit the house. Only about 7"+ rain but other spots had 20"+, The gulf pour up and on to the land via the lakes,marshes, bayous, canals and streams.
Many areas hit very hard by waters rising 10'+ in a matter of minutes where they were normally dry! Blessings to help those who were not as fortunate as myself and family!
I sit here typing while on generator power, off the grid since Tuesday at 7pm. Maybe I'll get power tommorrow or maybey not!  Blessed to be able to have a sturdy dry structure I can still call home!
In closing thanks for your concerns!

glad you have come out of it OK. I guess now you are sitting on a wet sponge waiting for it to dry.

Any updates Shadow? I hope everything is going ok. I was glad to hear that you were safe and dry in your earlier post.
I especially hope that the generator did not run out of fuel and cut power to the N' Sweat keg-o-rator.

Well finally back on the grid power at 7:45 Central time...Hoooray!  ;D CleanUp continues!
Oh BTW, about the N' Sweat keg-o-rator, Engineer151515, was checking on the N'Sweat Batch one day and left some high tech the N' Sweat chiller systems plans on the drafting table. I took a picture of those with my DUMB Phone. Then I designed my the N' Sweat keg-o-rator using those plans...Thanks Engineer! Therefore my generator is controlled by the N' Sweat keg-o-rator with several redundant systems to insure the perfect temperature of this delectable nectar!

Many of the people further south of me got hammered hard by the storm surge forthe storm's slow track. Water poured into some areas so fast, placing over 10' of water and debris in some neighborhoods. The marsh wetlands have deteriated over the years, this was the buffer to the storm surges but Louisana is loosing land by the hour these days due to costal errosion. These type storms destroy even more each year.
Many of the people north of me got hammered by the heavy and presistant rain fall with some areas getting as much as 22", this placed heavy loads on waterways, dams and locks in the area with threaten to cause failure of the structures. Measures were taken to lessen the strain on them. Local rivers bayous and streams reached record flood levels with this CATAGORY 1 storm!

Sounds like you & yours came thru with flying colors, due to a little bit of the old boy scout "Be Prepared" attitude. Obvious this wasn't your 1st rodeo of this type !

I am glad all is well. We have taken a respite from out normal craven profiteering, errrr I mean "investment strategies" out of respect for the gravity of the situation and I have heard rumor that the extra time has been put to good use manufacture more of the potent potables in preparation for a recovery celebration, or next Friday whichever comes first.
