Heritage SA Revolver

Picked up a used Heritage single action rimfire revolver the other day. No range report or pics other than website pics.

The little revolver seems well built and was easy on the pocketbook

Congratulations. I just recetly read somewhere that Heritage Firearms has been bought out by MKS Supply - those are the folks that make Hi Points. People make fun of those but the makers repair and replace damaged guns with no fuss.

They're a great gun for the money! I have two and one always goes to the range! Did yours come with the magnum cylinder as well as the LR cylinder?

A Heritage SA revolver is now top on my to-purchase list. I did RSO duty at a Boy Scout Leader training session last winter, and they brought along all of the Heritage revolvers from a local scout camp. I got a chance to shoot a couple of them, and I was really impressed! Good solid gun. I thought that the quality compared quite well with the Ruger Single-Six, and the price is sure a lot nicer!

The safety did puzzle me for a moment though...

Actually they were bought out, but you might be thinking of a different company. Compared to MKS I think Taurus may be a slight step up in manufacturing and marketing, but a possible slight step down in repairs and customer service.

I just bought one of these today as well. Have to wait until next Friday to pick it up though. Seems to be a solid plinker for the price.

I bought a "used" one with both cylinders for $100. Used means it had been shot 12 times (lr only). Not in the same class as my single six but a great plinker ( with good accuracy) that I don't have to baby. I honestly shoot it more than my single six.

Anyone ever have to bend the front sight on theirs as they mention on the factory website? Mine is shooting low and to the left. I just don't want to snap the front sight off by bending it.

I have a Heritage Single action revolver. My suggestion to buyers would be to buy one with adjustable sights. The fixed sight models tend to shoot low and left. The company kinda acknowleges this on their website. The gun has been 100% reliable for me. My front sight came bent to the left from the factory.

FAQ #1

How do I alter my Fixed sight Rough Rider to shoot closer to my point of aim?
  • Just remember this simple formula:
    • If it shoots high - you need a taller sight
    • If it shoots low - you need a shorter sight. You can accomplish this by lightly filing the front of your sight to lower it
    • If it shoots to the left - you slightly bend the sight to the left
    • If it shoots to the right - you slightly bend the sight to the right
